Time for a Real Discussion About Caitlin Clark

Here is the question to ask all the Iowa fans who want CC to come back next year.

"Who is Bluder going to ask to leave so CC can stay another year and be on scholarship?"

Iowa graduates/exhausts eligibility:
Kate Martin
Gabby Marshall
Molly Davis
Caitlin Clark

Martin, Marshall, and Davis are using their COVID year this year. CC is a senior academically and on schedule to graduate in May.

Other seniors (academically)
Sharon Goodman - graduated at semester, said she is coming back per a DMR article.
After she’s done with basketball at Iowa (she plans to play through the 2024-25 season), she hopes to enlist in an accelerated nursing program.
Kylie Feuerbach - has a redshirt year, and COVID year. She is a senior academically.

Current roster has 14 players, they graduate the four listed above. They are left with 10 on scholarship, and Bluder signed five in November 2023, taking their roster for 15 for 2024-25. 15 is the maximum number, so who does Bluder ask to leave since they would have 16 if CC stays.

Bluder has publicly said that Iowa will honor the athletic scholarship of Ava Jones who was injured in an accident and has never played, and most likely will never play. Because that would be a PR nightmare for Iowa if Bluder pulls her scholarship to give to CC.

Any Iowa fans who want her to come back are idiots.

Couldn't a donor just step up and pay for Ava to go to school if it meant another year for CC? Seems like an obvious solution if that is really the only thing standing in the way of CC coming back.

What more does she have to prove at the college level?

And I seriously worry that a few of you would literally stroke out if you had to put up with another year of her in college.

Trust me, I want her to go pro.

But if I were a fan of hers…. I’d want her to do whatever she wants to do. College was by far my favorite years of my life- not even close.

You said everybody outside of Iowa thinks she's a "whiny, overly dramatic, baby." I posted just a few examples of non-Iowans heaping praise on her without saying she's any of those things. You then shifted your focus from them thinking she's a "whiny, overly dramatic, baby" to them not saying she's the best player of all time. Pivot.
How many games do you think most of those that are national names have seen a full game? Do you really think TB12 sat down and watched a full Iowa women’s basketball game? Highly unlikely, but he can hear about her and congratulate her it’s not hard to understand

I'll vote for whiny overly dramatic baby.

I do think it is funny that on Fox Sports when I check the Iowa men's game results under the "Social" tab there are tweets from Iowa media members about the Iowa women and zero about the men.

Well they said they've enjoyed watching her play this season and will continue watching IowaWBB, so there's that. Unless you don't believe them?

couldn't cc pay for her own school?
Pretty sure there are rules against athletes paying their own way to circumvent scholarship limits, but I could be wrong with as frequently as the rules are changing.

No walk ons? Paul Shirley used his National Merit scholarship but that was two decades ago when college sports wasn’t professional sports
