I miss The Big Peach. The comics and Dear Abby.
Though the Register just switched up their comics and it sucks. They dug up some old assed comics and it is 1989 all over again.

Big 12 is definitely the best basketball conference. As you probably know, football is where most schools make their money. That's why being in a P2 conference matters.
Didn’t think about it but Iowa may get pushed to permanent NIT with the expansion. That is where they are this year and it looks tough for them to gain ground now.If a Big 12 fan isn’t calling it P1 basketball they’re doing it wrong.
Do P6 programs still have to have .500 record for NIT or is that no longer required? I could easily see Iowa finishing at 15-16 and then going 0-1 or 1-1 in conf tourney to wind up below .500.Didn’t think about it but Iowa may get pushed to permanent NIT with the expansion. Not sure. But they have a tough row to make the tourney.Do P6 programs still have to have .500 record for NIT or is that no longer required? I could easily see Iowa finishing at 15-16 and then going 0-1 or 1-1 in conf tourney to wind up below .500.
That's really dumb. But it isn't any more dumb than Big 10 and SEC fans calling their leagues P2. The money is the only real difference between those leagues and a league like the Big 12.If a Big 12 fan isn’t calling it P1 basketball they’re doing it wrong.

Yeah, but the P2 comment only has money as a significant differentiator. There may have been quite a few more SEC playoff appearances but the middle and bottom of that league is no better than the Big 12's middle and bottom. The Big 10 is even closer to the Big 12 in those respects. And how much of that difference in playoff appearances is due to media bias rather than actual play on the field?I call it P1 because it’s been the best conference by metrics for 14 of the past 15 years. Because it’s actually a full level above the minor conferences, not because of money.
And the Sunday 4-page section was three pages comics and the back page a big USA today ad. Lost some advertising $ there, but who cares what the people think. The comics and Dear Abby.

You are referring to the Sports section covering the Hoks, right? And the Sunday 4-page section was three pages comics and the back page a big USA today ad. Lost some advertising $ there, but who cares what the people think.
Nope new NIT rules for this year. Top 2 NET ranking teams from each P6 that didn’t make the tourney automatically qualify for the NIT.Do P6 programs still have to have .500 record for NIT or is that no longer required? Hawks coverage...Beetle Bailey...sometimes it is difficult to differentiate the two.You are referring to the Sports section covering the Hoks, right?
Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say B1G gets six teams (Purdue, Ill, Mich St, Wiscy, NW, Neb) in the dance. That leaves Minny, Penn St, Indiana, Ohio St, Rutgers, Maryland and Iowa all battling for the next two spots (everyone but Mich). Iowa currently is 7th in B1G NET so would be in today. However, if they do go 2-5 or 1-6 down the stretch, they most likely will drop below #8 and not auto qualify for NIT. CBI here they come!Nope new NIT rules for this year. The Big Ten sucks at MBB so what is that money actually doing for them?Big 12 is definitely the best basketball conference. As you probably know, football is where most schools make their money. That's why being in a P2 conference matters.
Those two spots are automatic qualifiers, the Big Ten likely gets more than 2 in the NIT. There isn’t a ton of bracketology for the NIT but the couple of sites I’ve seen has 4-5 of them in.Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say B1G gets six teams (Purdue, Ill, Mich St, Wiscy, NW, Neb) in the dance. Wow. She raised ticket prices a whole $60.00.
Don’t think a P6 can be in the CBI. Could be wrong though.Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say B1G gets six teams (Purdue, Ill, Mich St, Wiscy, NW, Neb) in the dance.
