Tight End U

Not sure why Iowa considers themselves "Tight End U"...... There are several schools who have put more tight ends, and better tight ends in the NFL than Iowa. Miami and Notre Dame easily come to mind.

The best tight end Notre Dame has had drafted in the last 30+ years is Kyle Rudolph who has never been considered a top 10 caliber TE in the pros.

Since 2000 Miami has had 12 TE's drafted and Iowa and Notre Dame have each had 11 drafted.

I would rank Miami first followed by Iowa with Notre Dame a distant third.

They were talking about emergency QBs for the Vikings the other day. It was interesting to learn that Rudolph is number 2 on their emergency QB list behind Thielen.

Eifert > Rudolph. Eifert just always gets hurt. Fasano and Smith are better than Rudolph

The production is a remarkable turnaround. I remember joking on CF that the TEs need to understand that we don't throw to them. Looking at cyclones.com, if I'm seeing this correctly, these were the catches by TE per year:

2016: 5
2017: 5 (Allen 4, Seonbuchner 1)
2018: 25
2019: 75
2020: 64 so far

I think we'll surpass last year's number. But let's keep them in multiples of 5, offense.

11 drafted is a good number.

I agree that Eifert has more pure talent but like you said he always gets hurt. He had the one outlier season in 2015 but otherwise hasn't really done anything. His next best season was last season when he had 43-436-3.

Rudolph has 453 career receptions for 4,488 yards and 48 TD's in 140 games.

Fasano had 299 career receptions for 3,278 yards and 36 TD's in 180 games.

Smith had 183 career receptions for 1,788 yards and 15 TD's in 95 games.

I'll take Rudolph over those two all day.

Kelce is better than Kittle

Fant is not better than Hunter Henry
Kelce plays in a pass first system and has Pat Mahomes as his QB. George Kittle plays in a run first system and has Jimmy G as his QB. Kittle is the best and its not even really close. Most experts and fans would agree with me. Fant was playing incredible u til he got hurt. I’d say he’s better than Henry.

Have you seen what Kelce has done this year? Kelce is the best and it's not even really close. Most experts and fans would agree with me

You both say it isn't even close but a quick Google search finds 2020 ranking lists that show both Kittle and Kelce at the top of lists so I don't think it is clear cut either way.
