Thunderstruck

Boo. Not a fan of this song as entrance music. Its still 10x better than Smoke on the Water. At least people can get pumped up by this song. That being said, half the schools in the country use this song, Iowa already uses another AC/DC song, and its not geared towards the younger generations.

It's a safe pick and probably should have been Iowa State's entrance for years and years now.

Would a new age rock or rap pump up song be cool? Hell yeah, and I like it when anything is done for the 18-22 year old crowd (because it is COLLEGE football after all.) But I think there will still be plenty of that music throughout the game.

End of the day - Smoke on the Water is gone and be happy about that. :-)

If we're going the rock route we could have at least gone with Slipknot. I'm not a fan really but they are Iowan at least and that music came out of Iowa. If that doesn't resonate with fans then I don't know what would. Thunderstruck by AC/DC reeks of "we don't want to ruffle the feathers of the demographic of our main donation pool".

Not once in my life have I ever decided I like a song or band based on where they are from. I gotta believe I'm not alone in that either.

"Holy **** this song blows where are these guys from? Oh, Iowa! Hell yeah! Turn it up!!"

Your totally right! Why play something different when we can play another overrated rock song from decades ago. I mean it worked out so well last time and everyone loved it.

If it is Thunderstruck...I hope some editing is done on the intro side, because is builds before for a bit before the song really ramps up. I think it could be work with good timing, video shot of the team and some pyro. But if the timing and sound are off...probably look choppy and poorly planned.

Oh, no way? Why didn't you say so! If your HS team had it on their playlist, and you're still pumping iron to it, then the Clones should definitely enter to it on Saturday.
Never said that was the reason, just thought it was funny that he said that young people never listen to it

Ya because that's what that post means lol. I'm talking about making sense, not liking the music. I don't like Slipknot either.

Can we leave in the Texas dancers who "gave a good time". Even though they blew their minds and had them shaking at the knees. I respect that, but I don't need them to come again please

This summer they were playing something on the videoboard that seemed like it could be an entrance song . . . and it wasn't Thunderstruck . . . but something much more along the lines of what Campbell said it would be.

And yes, I'm going to be that guy and not tell you what it was. It is not mine to announce.

For the record, I'm going to send a PM to Chris Williams with the name of the song, so you know I'm not just BS-ing about them playing it at Jack Trice this summer.
