Thoughts about today's results

This team was not prepared to play this game at all. A bowl team with a couple of good running backs and a good mobile qb does not allow Colorado to hold it to a negative 6 yards rushing.

It just seemed like the coaches and team were in a daze today. Why the hell did ISU take a knee to end the first half when they were down by 10? Why not take one shot down the field, or run some goofy reverse or something. Taking a knee? WTF? Herman, the supposed offensive genius does not have some trick play he could have tried? To me, that just tells AA and the offense as a whole that "we have no confidence in you whatsoever". Bad move, IMO.

I don't know if they should have done a trick play, but I don't understand taking a knee in that situation. I wish they would just have given it to Arob and see if he could have made a play.

It just ****** me off! I said a trick play only because there was only a few seconds left, and what do you have to lose? At least with a trick play, there is probably less chance of turning it over than with a "hail Mary" pass or something. I just could not understand just taking a knee at all. That is giving up.

Apparently, Herman needs to have the precise players to fit his system. Supposedly, when he gets those players, his scheme is unstoppable (i.e. Texas Tech under Leach). My issue with this is that it will take years to get the correct players (of approprite Big 12 athletic ability) in all the positions, and ISU really can't waith for years to consistently get six or more wins per season.

Right now, it would seem that Herman goes in with a gameplan. If it works, all is well. If it is being hindered or shut down, there are no adjustments or deviations made to try to get something going; he just keeps pounding ahead with the same thing.
