How much do you guys think Iowa's loss will hurt our bowl chances due to a hit to our SOS? We might have dropped from the Alamo to the Pinstripe...

We need to get 6 wins to make a bowl. SOS doesn't really matter a lot IMO for bowls (except BCS). They pick who brings in the most money.

SOS wont affect things at all. If we get to 6 wins, we'll make a bowl. If we dont, we wont. Simple as that.

1. We still need to get bowl eligible

2. If we do, Jukebox is right, it's not like the NCAA tournamet where they factor in a bunch of stats. All they care about is how many people will you bring? See last year when ISU was picked over Missouri for the Insight Bowl.

I really hope in the future that we start scheduling good out of conference opponents (i.e., not Iowa). I couldn't sleep at night knowing that we didn't make a bowl game due to Iowa's losses.

A Northwestern OOC game would benefit us more than Iowa. GG should really rethink JP as our starting AD. Is McCarney still available?

Really. How much money would ISU lose buy dropping Iowa? We are already losing a pile of money by not playing Neb anymore.

How much would we gain by adding another home game every other year? Or by having a higher chance at a bowl game every year?

Pathetic, lack of heart and enthusiasm especially with a bowl game on the line.

We are going to a bowl game if we win next week.

Iowa is having a FAR more disappointing season then we are. Those fools thoguht they were going 12-0. They could lose 4 games this year. They should already have 4 losses.

The Iowa game brings people to Ames. It allows you to upsell tickets. It allows you to sell more tents and upsell those tents. It allows you to collect more from parking. Selling 40,000 tickets for $25 more a ticket is $1,000,000. Selling the last 12,000 tickets at $50 a ticket is $600,000. Add in hotdogs, pop, and everyting else you are talking a lot of money. Yes it is everyother year but one game vs Iowa problay means more money to the athletic dept than play nobody every year. You really dont make that much money going to bowl games, by the time you pay for all your overhead.
