Matt played great today and I feel bad that he wasn't in the game and given the ball more in the second half. He scored 8 straight in the first...we needed him to get a couple open looks in the last 10 minutes. I hope he stays positive. Wished we would have had George pass out of the double team to Matty. Bummer.

I agree, surprised he didn't play more in the second half. I'm guessing it was a defensive decision.

Niang needs to pass out of double teams more period. But, even when a team has an off shooting game, defense and rebounding can help you win. We lost the game on the boards and in the turnover department.
 
I thought the same thing. I wish Thomas would have been given the start at the beginning of the second half. Fred never changes lineups though. Wish he would have this game.

Very tough end to the season.
 
We needed to see more of MT in the 2nd half. Great game by him, hopefully more to come next year!
 
Tough for Matt. In games he's not hitting shots he's given the hook which apparently doesn't apply to other shooters. Too bad, really. Could have used him....

Is it just me, or did they seem to REALLY be forcing the ball on dump offs to McKay after driving penetration? Particularly early? And nearly every one a turn over?
 
He did play well for a stretch...was nice to see. He basically was the only one playing aggressive.....everyone else was trying cute little wraparound passes and overthinking. Hope it translates next year.
 
Really wish it was Matty-Ice to take that last second 3 over Naz. Yeah, Naz has a better track record of buzzer beaters, but Matty was the only player hitting his shots today.

Feel super bad for him. If we had won it would've been a huge confidence booster, and he could've ridden that and given us an amazing bench presence.
 
I was really hoping the final 3 attempt ended up in his hands. Naz got a great look, had to take it, and has hit big shots in the past, but it just wasn't Naz's day and can't blame him for that miss because we NEVER should've been in that spot anyway.

Matt played very well. We are going to need him to keep making strides next year if we want to be successful. He sure is fun to watch when he is on and he has absolutely beautiful shot.

yeah...would have rather seen the hotter shooter get it. Naz has been MIA for 2 weeks.
 
This is the kind of game that can cause a player to have real questions about their role. It would be easy for Thomas to say "I'm the only guy that can hit a shot today. We always play the hot hand, and I can't get off the bench in this train wreck?"
 
His increase in confidence had been showing up as of late. I have to think that starting #2 position is up for grabs next year with the way this season ended with a few of the players.
 
At times it feels like Matt is about to break through. We need a consistent 2 guard. Naz has been MIA for a few weeks now, and Matt has had opportunities to step up but only has a couple of times. Going to be an interesting off season battle between Naz, Matty Ice and Hallice.
