Guys....UNI lives for games like this. Remember they beat Iowa last year in this classic and Iowa went on to have a good year losing to Gonzaga in the round of 32. I think there's a reason Jacobsen is 6-2 against us. Fred was lucky we won the game 2 years ago, down 18. Will be interesting if they ever shoot that well from '3' again this year. And, no, not all of them was because we had crappy defense. Only Wichita State should stand in their way of winning the MVC. Maybe Palm can put UNI vs. Iowa in the same bracket of the big dance together now.
is it just me or does every team start the game shooting lights out against us? We don't put any pressure on teams. They run their sets like it's freaking practice.
They did go with what was working eventually. They went to Georges. They put Nader on that *******.
UNI isn't a mediocre valley team. They will contend for valley crown. WTS..I dont care who u are playing if a team is hitting 69% fg in a half u are in trouble. Had UNI played a mediocre team they would have won by 30. It's not like we weren't playing defense...dude was draining 27 foot threes. Ridiculous. Won't happen again for them. UNI always plays out of their minds vs Isu. They usually beat us recently and we do just fine.
No kidding. Isn't this the part where we get behind our team and support them when they need us the most? After all, we're supposed to be the best fan base in the country, so some say. We could go on a 3 game losing streak (UNI, Cincy, and OU) and still be a darn good team. A tough stretch that everybody has wanted on our schedule. Better to grow from games like this. Go Clones! Its a journey not a sprint. (Having said that, how healthy is Monte? Btw, his entire warmup was all fancy dancy stuff. But maybe he always does that.)
Luckily a 3 game losing streak against those teams is not possible as we cleverly stuck Coppin State in there between Cincy and OU...
Its not a coincidence imo that the 1st game that Naz Long misses, we lose and hit only 3 threes out of 17 attempts....
Our defense against the 3 has sucked all season and finally caught up to us......This team is vastly overrated and the only player to play up to his potential every nite is Jameel McKay.........

Is Duke overrated? They lost to Utah who got killed by Wichita who got killed by Iowa. Is Kentucky overrated? They lost to Ohio State for god's sake.
Sometimes teams lose. Maybe this team is overrated, but one loss against UNI is not at all the definitive answer.
They were the better team today.
I'm not sure what to make of this team. I don't buy all of you that act like just because they don't win by 40, they suck. I also don't buy that plenty of good teams manage to lose games. There are some warts that this team has, but frankly 90% of the teams int the country have warts.
Well if the NCAA tournament was based only on games played on 19th of December 2015, then I agree we don't make the dance.

But it was fairly obvious to me that this team believed they were WAY better than both Iowa and UNI and just needed to show up to win. Last year's team would do the same thing sometimes. I just hate that.
If you can't get up for your instate rivalries, then you've got issues. It's bragging rights for the whole year. And now UNI has them over us once again, and if that doesn't bother our guys at all, then that's pathetic. Where is your pride?
You can't always go through the motions for the first 30 minutes and then think you can just turn it on in the last 10 minutes and win by a couple baskets. That's doomed for failure. Probably should have cost us the Iowa game, and it did cost us the game tonight.

Disagree. A good three point shot is one that is assisted from inside when the shooter can be square, balanced, and step into the shot. Iowa State has no ball movement and a very difficult time in the half court. Cyclones are money in fast breaks off of missed shots and turnovers, but if the opponent hits their shots and forces Iowa State into a half court game, advantage them. Our half court offense is either pass it to the post and get a crafty bucket with good footwork, or pick up the dribble and try a contested three with no rhythm, which we don't have the shoooters to pull off. We outplayed UNI in every statistic except the point shooting, and that was a huge gap. Our three pointers were off the dribble and quick shots in terms of the possession, and their three pointers were assisted and much later in the possession after several passes.
