But going into the bye week there is a path to the Big 12 title game. Humor me for a min, but right now ISU has the best loss in the conference (at OU). If they can find a way to beat Baylor they have a real chance. KU is very good team with their quarterback and not a very good team without him. BYU and KState are VERY up and down. And they get Texas in Ames in the middle of November ( probably at night) so who knows what the weather could be. But if they beat Texas they could lose a game somewhere else and still have a tiebreaker over Texas. And Texas has tough games with Texas Tech and a KState team that plays them very well.

I’m just saying…..

Played this out in my head yesterday as well. It's not completely crazy. First things first, we need to take it to Baylor. That has been a tough place for us to play.

No matter what Baylor is this year, that place has been a nightmare for us of “oh so close” and it’s not going to be easy. Win that one then you can start to look at the real chances because you get KU at home and if you want to play for a championship you need to win the home games.

The other part that will be trickier than anyone thinks is at Provo. If BYU was at home I wouldn’t even think twice about it but in Provo is not going to be fun regardless of what BYU is.

Honestly I'd be happy with a split in our next 2, preferably a win at home against KU. That would make 4 wins out of the last 5! Then a win at BYU gets us a bowl.

Of course, I'd love to get Baylor also. I'll believe it when I see it, down there. And who doesn't want to beat Texas at home in their last Big 12 year!

Getting at least one of the next two is obviously not bad but I will be disappointed if we can’t win in Waco. Only reservation is because we never win there but this Baylor team is the worst team they have had in some time. They are not good.

Oh yeah, we can do it, and I'd love too! I'm just prepping myself now. Baylor will probably play lights out and we come up short. We are gonna beat Kansas! Just think, 5 games/wins in a row, that's a pretty steep turn around from where we were!

Let's just win out and call it good.

It's possible. But a team this young has a couple more losses in them. Texas is more likely to be a heartbreaker.

Going into the season had someone told you that ISU would be 4-3 after 7 games I bet we all would have been happy, but, I bet we all would have assumed 3-0 non-conference and 1-3 in the Big 12. The real 4-3 is much much better than that. That being said, one game at a time. This young team can’t look ahead at all. Every game left is winnable and every game is losable
