Some fans just cannot stand that Fred blew it on this one, regardless of his coaching skills and team preparation. He should have at least used a timeout before they got to a 10 point deficit. Call a play, calm them down, do something other than watch. Fans watch, coaches coach.

Fred didn't blow it, Lucious could've made the front end of his 1&1, and McLemore was constantly getting shots up without a hand in his face. Fred had an amazing gameplan and in the end he gets second guessed. Oh well. It was a great effort, need that kind of effort every night and ISU will win a lot of conference games.

Fred just talked about why he didn't foul and I agree with him. They banked in a three. They got lucky. It sucks.

They got lucky ONCE. But if we foul, they have to get lucky like THREE or FOUR times in a row. I will take my chances on the latter.

If we foul them, they have to make the 1st FT. Then they have to miss the next FT on purpose, which is difficult to do correctly. And then they have to hope one of their guys gets the rebound. If they get the rebound, then they have to then make another basket on top of that. If we get the rebound off the miss, then they have to foul us immediately. Then they have to hope we miss the first FT. Then hope we also miss the 2nd FT. And if we do, then they have to make a half court shot at the buzzer.

OR... if we don't foul them, they have to just hope their super hot shooting guy can make a guarded 3, which he's done all night long on us. Those odds are much better.

We should have won this one, not only did we not foul when we should have, but more disturbing for myself is the coach not calling a timely time out until 2 minutes left in overtime and watching for three minutes his team steadily go down 10 points. Coaches are supposed to coach, calm them down, make a play, do something other than watch.

I believe the team and Fred will and do need to improve.
