...ISU better find some consistent outside shooting really soon. Our poor 3 pts shooting will catch up to us no matter how well our front court plays. Say what you want about last years team not being as good as this one...When that team needed 3s, it got them more than not. I sure hope Thomas breaks out of this shooting slump soon because we need a guard that can hit that big shot when you need it.
 
When our 3 ball isn't falling, the whole "mismatches" thing gets turned around on us in a hurry.
 
Actually, for this team, rebounding poorly affects our offense more than missing threes does. We were only effective in transition tonight, and had only about half the opportunities due to doing a poor job on the boards.

They need to hit threes against tall teams. Just look at the rebounding stats. Twos attempts underneath were blocked four times by tall defenders.

It has to be Thomas, Ejim and Kane holding up their end. Niang needs to maybe take a few less than he does. Naz not shooting that well either. He needs to make 2-3 a night if he is starting.

There are other places on the court to make shots from, besides in the paint and behind the 3 point line.

Lots not going to catch up with us. It caught us and slapped us in the face tonight.

you are right, 3-25 or whatever, all we need is 6-25 and we win.

This is really the key. Embiid never really had to step out of the lane as much as Withey did last year.
 
Other than getting out rebounded by 600 and shooting about .00025% from the field...we only had 3 turnovers!

Yup, not moving the defense around enough. Watch what KU did to us, our guys were flying around like crazy to get a hand and contest shots.

Only Hogue and Thomas perhaps appear to have a mid range shot. We are screwed on offense if we cannot shoot threes and get stuffed inside.

Ejim has had one in the past and Georges is better at finding ways to score than we have saw in the past few games.

Too late. It's cost us twice already.
 
We need more set plays with screens for our shooting guards. The dump it in or drive, pass to the outside guard is not for this team. 2 years ago it was Royce that drew in the defense. Last year it was Clyburn with his slashing ability. This year it is Kane but he is one of our guards. Thomas and Long are the X men. Need their outside shooting rest of the way. They need help getting open though.
