Things to do in Des Moines for one night?

Prairie Meadows should be fun on the weekend of the Kentucky Derby, especially with a bunch of Iowans as owners of a competitive horse.

Yeah...Sunday...afternoon. It will be a blast. Have done that several times in the past.

Not sure this fits the time frame the OP was inquiring about.

i know babe that used to run babe's pizza. is that pizza restaurant still going? if it is,treat them to a babe's pizza...

Zombie Burger across from House of Bricks is still insanely popular a year after opening. Waiting on the patio for 2 hours to get your burger is the thing to do.

Some friends of mine are road tripping from Butler to Cali, leaving on Saturday. They're going to be in Des Moines at 6 PM, and are looking for something fun to do that night (museums, landmarks, etc). They're not 21, so keep that in mind as well. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

House of bricks you can be under 21 to get in, go across the street and eat at Zombie Burger

Gotcha. Babe is a little before my time (although I was fortunate to drive down from Ames with a group of guys when we were at college and got a chance to eat at Babe's and meet him.).

Anyway...Chuck's in Highland Park area is the same family and they have great pizza (and Onion Rings). So...that would be the closest option to the Babe's connection.
