I don't need to talk to anyone. You're the one tossing out preseason football rankings like they're definitive gospel. Prove it on the field.
We're going to suck this year. I'm guessing 6 wins at the most. Our D is much worse than kool aid drinkers think, we're not going to be able to stop anyone. I wouldn't be surprised if we lose to Illinois St.
If Iowa loses more than 6 games, everyone should be fired. Even Barta. And that will make me sad.
I also threw out final football rankings and bowl results from last year. That was proven on the field. Unless bowl results only matter those years when the B1G collapses and the Big 12 doesn't.

I'd rather we go 2-10 than 6-6. If we limp out with another .500 season it won't be enough for Barta or KF to be forced out. We need a complete meltdown with lots of losses and lots of shots of crying kids in Iowa jerseys under cloudy skies.
Show me where I've said Iowa is or has been any good the past 5 years. The B1G had a very solid year last year, winning the national title and beating very good teams in bowls. You trying to deny that just makes you look stupid.

Sure bowl results matter...although they're easily overblown. You know the whole who wants to be there thing. Baylor lost interest and got smacked. Just like the year prior when OU drilled Bama. OU was not the better team, they just wanted to be there and Bama was disappointed to be playing in that game.
Id just be careful about drawing major conclusions from the bowls...but especially when it pertains to the following year. OU rode that win over Bama to a high preseason ranking. And we all know how that turned out for them.
This is my fear. Need hoks to go 6-6 to keep Ferentz around. Might have to win the bowl this time though.
Baylor was up 24-14 at half and 41-21 going into the 4th. That doesn't say to me they had no interest in being there. It's actually a pretty lame excuse and tool for deflecting the fact that MSU held one of the most explosive offenses in the nation scoreless in the last 20 minutes and earned a win over one of the best teams in the country that wanted to win just as much.
I know bowl results are easily overblown and not a be all. I'm just saying anyone who thinks the B1G was weak or not just as good if not better than the Big 12 LAST YEAR and last year alone is either blind or dumb or both.
That may be true, however 20% of the Big 12 is in the top three vs 7% of the B1G. Checkmate. :yes:
And what was Iowa's record vs the top 3 of the B1G? ISU was 0-3 vs top 3 of the Big XII
There is staring to be hype around this Iowa team for some reason. Even some in the media are falling into the trap. I have heard some remarks that Iowa will beat ISU easy.
I think to would be neat for Iowa to reach the Big 10 title game, with an 8-4 record then have OSU put a 65-0 beatdown on them.

And we beat Iowa. I'm willing to take my blinders off and admit that the Big 12 probably wasn't as good as everyone thought last year. So, you should be able to admit, other than the top few teams, the drop off to weak football hits pretty fast in that watered down league known as the Big 10.
I still say if you take the top 10 teams from both conferences, Big 10 and Big 12, you can't say the Big 10 was a better conference.
Although, I'm glad you **** on my point. If the Big 10 is that strong, then I change my mind, Iowa has no shot at the conference championship game.
A composite of computer rankings has the big 12 as the third toughest conference ahead of the b1g and ACC. Let us not forget isu beating Iowa, tcu beating Minnesota, lsu beating Wisconsin, Virginia tech beating Ohio st, oregon beating michigan st...so on and so forth.
Yeah, but those games don't matter because they weren't bowl games. Plus everyone knows B1G teams improve over the year while all other teams decline.
