There are no bad wins, right?

I don't generally subscribe to the belief that there is such a thing as a bad win, excluding a win costing your team a key player. As such, I don't even consider this a bad win. If we enter November with a 7-1 or even 8-0 record, nobody's going to give a damn about this game. Hell, god forbid we're even at 4-4 entering November, once again, nobody's going to give a damn about this game other than it exposed from the beginning that we were overhyped.

I don't know how sore the team is after this game but I feel like I played for a half.

That UNI team was well prepared. Freshmen QB was unflappable. I would take their kicking game. Secondary was much better than I expected. Yea, yea, they may not be the talent level we are going to see the rest of the season but I bet we don't see a better game plan against us.

I don't know many previous ISU teams that would have gutted that game. I am going to assume this was all part of the process.

The good FCS teams are fundamental as F and if you don't execute you're in for a tough day.

I still say ISU had poor fumdamentals all over today but most were correctable and the team has lots to learn from..

After all our games against UNI the past 15 years, I’ve learned you just gotta take the W. UNI seems like a better team than normal for their standards this year. Farley seemed to really praise them before today.

It's a culture thing too imo. Tough game today, lots not going well, even an ISUesque fumble at the end. Usually, that's a loss.

But someone needed to make a play, and Purdy recovered the ball.

It won't always be like that- getting the break- but the fact is it's a program with guys that want to make that play and that hasn't been the case.

This might have been the best thing for this team. Now they are fully aware that the hype doesn’t make them good. They made a lot of dumb mistakes and had serious diversity in a few key calls but still won the game. Future opponents have no idea what is really in our playbook....
