*****The Super, Mega, Huge Big 12 Expansion Thread*****

I think it's kind of funny how people are treating the whole Missouri situation.

With Texas A&M, and then later with UT, OU, and Co., we were legitimately worried about the future of the conference. We really wanted them to stay and save the Big 12.

With Mizzou, we don't give a ****. There's a good chance we'd come out better without them. It's like that girlfriend who's saying "I'm leaving this time! For real! I mean it!" and you just sit there in your La-Z-Boy knowing that new hot girl down the hall is in to you anyway.

Tells you a lot about who is vital to this success of this conference and who isn't.

We're still a better conference with Mizzou than without.

We know this. The Missouri administration even knows this. But the fanbase has their bags packed and have checked out already. We saw this with Aggy last year when their fan base made similar noises.

They will go, it is just a matter of when.

In terms of TV markets and geography we are. In terms of athletic success they are last in Big 12 history.

Depending on who we replace them with we could easily be better on the field without them. WVU is equal or better in hoops and much better in football. Louisville is much better in hoops and not drastically worse in football. BYU is slightly worse in hoops and would probably be better in football once they have a few years in a major conference.

F off Missouri. Make a decision now or just GTFO so the Big 12 can move on without you.

I dont understand why they dont put a deadline on the decision like they did for Col and Neb? I dont want any new teams, specifically any Big East teams having to pay a larger buyout cause Mizz is ****** around, or even lose them all together.

Big 12 could invite anyone they want to join the conference at any time. Nobody said they had to wait on Mizzou. I think it is a bigger factor that the Big 12 may not be the first choice for teams they might look at (see WVU.)

Sounds like any fans hoping for BYU better plan on kissing those chances goodbye.

Last BYU: Not saying it won't happen (never say never w/ realignment). Only saying B12 must do some major bending & that seems unlikely

BYU happy with Indy/WCC status. B12 will have to make major concessions to get Cougars. Difficult (but not impossible) to c that happening.

And BYU will regret this decision in no more than 5 years.

Yeah... and we have enough self-absorbed schools anyways, honestly. That was something that always concerned me about them, the early reports that theyd make a number of demands, and i'm not sure i want a school that isnt all that outstanding anyways to start out here by acting like theyre superior to everyone else in the conference. Either join as an equal or enjoy having fun getting anyone to fly to Provo as an indy.

I know, but I think whoever we invite depends on if Mizzou is staying or not. If they leave they maybe the Big XII wants to take 3 Big East teams and they want to do it all at once. If they stay maybe its only BYU and Louisville?
Sounds like there are too many hurdles and too much BS to go through to get BYU. I just hope we get back to 12.

BYU doesn't need to be in the Big 12 to be content. They just need a Big 12 to be there, preventing a move to 4 AQ conferences. As long as there is a Big 12, superconferences, and particularly one that engulfs the bulk of territory west of the Mississippi and does not include the Cougars, are unlikely to happen.

Their FB schedule is going to **** though after the next three years.

Yeah, good luck with that once all the conferences transition to 9 games every year in conference. Sorry, no room for a BYU and it will get tougher for Notre Dame.
