What is marginally better. UI in Big 10 and ISU in C-USA, or both in Big 10. I think everyone would agree the latter. That is why I think the high-ups in the Iowa landscape when presented with a worst-case scenario would at least give it a shot.
Never say never. Notre Dame contract with NBC may not be so great when you have four super conferences. Who will play ND when Big 10 goes to 16 teams?Guys, snap into reality. ND will never, I repeat never join the big 12. If anything they would join the big 10, but that will probably never happen either. Wow, folks need to relax.
Obviously we don't know the full verbage.
There is obviously verbage that would allow teams to leave but the point is this. If conference ceases to exist so do all contracts and their language, including the ones that would protect the teams that are leaving. The key thing is the conference doesn't exist anymore. Not two or three teams leaving. If a school is left out because enough teams left to cease the conference than a school would be free to sue the other schools that were previously protected in the conference contract that would no longer apply because the conference no longer exists nor does it's contracts.
If the big 12 disbanded and ISU was left in the dust with no exit fees or anything they would be free to sue whomever whenever they wanted. No way would ISU, KSU, etc sign a contract that would still allow protection to the UT's, and OU's of the world if the conference was disbanded and ISU, KSU, etc were left in a very bad financial situation.
Kansas doesn't have clean hands either right now.. and they haven't for a looooong time
The Big12 would be a lot more stable in the long run to boot Texas off the island, keep the other 9, and add BYU and two other schools. I would trade a little less money for long term stability. Say we do stay together if A&M leaves. How long before OU starts the same conversation.
Spill it. What are you saying? Who have they been talking to and what is their role? I could see them talking with the Big 10, the Pac 10 or the Big East. Maybe ultimately they would rather go to the Big East, but it seems like financially, the Big 12 is going to be very good for them.
Kansas tried to get in the Pac 10 last year...and was instrumental in working the fall back plan with the Big East.

Without UT there is no Big 12 dude. OU isn't going to stay in a conference without UT now that Nebraska is gone.
What is our case? If they can legally leave the conference, what grounds do we have? There is verbiage in the contract that if enough teams vote to leave, the conference is disbanded.
Are you saying that they are responsible for our financial obligations? I don't get your argument here.
