This is how relevant Missouri has been. Sorry kitty cats, but you are not that important.

So Texas Tech has had only one national title in all sports? Those Waco boys have not produced much. They might want to take up mason jars.

Missouri should be making their decision by 28 Oct or we will soon be into the bball season.

You're bragging about 28 bowl appearances??? Let's see where that puts you in the SEC:

Alabama: 58
Tennessee: 49
Georgia: 46
LSU: 42
Arkansas: 38
Florida: 38
Auburn: 36
Mississippi: 33
Texas A&M: 32
Missouri: 28
Kentucky: 15
Mississippi State: 14
South Carolina: 16
Vanderbilt: 4

You've lost more of them than you've won, and about the only decent one in the past 50 years is the 2008 Cotton Bowl. Have fun being the SEC's newest and dumbest punching bag.

Get used to having yourself lumped in with Kentucky, MSU and Vandy.

Oh please. :skeptical:

I love how you guys just pull numbers out of your @#!@##$.

No one on this board knows the sentiments of the Mizzou fan base, including me, and I am a Mizzou lifer.

All of my personal friends and family want anything but the Big 12 because the implosion isn't over. OU and TU are going to come to blows eventually and then our friends from KU, ISU and State are going to understand why the move to the SEC was Mizzou's golden parachute.

Look, I have said from the very beginning that I do not believe Mizzou is going to the SEC, and I still have trouble believing they will. But I have no idea how anyone could blame them if they do. This conference is a one-armed, two-headed, freak show.[/QUOTE]

If it is, then it's the fault of EVERY school that we didn't get the structure in place to maintain a conference that makes sense geographically, culturally, and competitively. Despite the dysfunction, the Big 12 still ranks near the top in conference strength across several sports.

UT and OU are a big part of the problem...they've never been able to see the larger picture like other conference heavyweights (tOSU, Mich., USC, Alab., etc.) and seek to strengthen the conference before securing their own positions. But the rest of us were never united enough to insist on the changes that could have kept the group together. That's on ALL of us (the administrators, anyway).

I accept that our conference mates see Mizzou as the villian-du-jour of conference realignment. That's OK. As I've said earlier, if the Big 12 survives and prospers with new members, then everybody walks away happy. If future problems lead to UT or OU bolting and the dissolution of the Big 12, Mizzou fans shouldn't be expecting a lot of congrats on getting out when they had the opportunity. ISU, KU, KSU, etc. will have other things to think about.

I really don't see Mizzou as a villian in the same vein as OU, Texas, or A&M. I more or less think they just need to be stopped for their own good. A&M leaving, and Texas/OU potentially leaving made me angry. Mizzou leaving just makes me kind of sad.

It will be a great day when missery and their fans are gone. Looking forward to welcoming Louisville, WVU, and Cinninati to the new and improved B12.

I still do not see why Mizzou wants to leave. The SEC is a bunch of cronies carving each other up. Mizzou was decent in bball and fball and could win the North every year. They should be pushing for staying and going to 12 teams. I think it would be the pits to play the eastern SEC. Do they wrestle in the SEC? Do they know how to play soccer? How is the SEC for olympic sports? Can those dudes swim down south?
I taught the opnly smart schools were Vbilt and Tulane in the South. And, no way would Sprint Center host any Big 12 events if Mizzou left.

In the beginning I wanted Mizoo to stay but as this has lingered and my desire for Big 12 stability I would rather they go. In the last two years Mizoo has made it obvious they are not really with us - they want either the Big 10 or SEC and I don't think that will change - it will become an annual concern. They can go and then Big 12 gets back to 12 with WVA, UL & BYU and adds to the stability of the conference. Mizoo just go and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Two sources with direct knowledge of where the Big East stands, said that even if the league's expansion plan of bring in Air Force, Boise, Central Florida, Navy, Houston and SMU is executed, both Louisville and West Virginia still would leave for a spot in the Big 12.
The Big East is down to six FBS members. Losing even one more could spell a doomsday scenario that commissioner John Marinatto, speaking on a telephone conference call yesterday, addressed.
I wonder if Neinas is trying to be nice to the Big East by letting them have a chance to add members before he sends out expected invites. The delay in upping the exit fee might be a compromise between the BE and B12: Louisville and WVU can leave before it is upped.

If Air Force, Boise, Central Florida, Navy, Houston and SMU are added, maybe the Big 12 goes back after BYU. If the BE fails in its recruitment, they take three and tell Mizzou to skidaddle.

I hope Mizzou is out recruiting some extra linemen as it will be just brutal in the SEC. better get more concussion proof helmets also. Passing? Forget it. The qb will be mashed liver before he can set up. They better run the ball more to save their qb. The Gene will love it when he rolls out the carpet for MO. The Battle of the Tigers. Mybe the zou people could put together the first tiger trophy.

Yeah - they're more like a mini-me for OU, A&M and Texas.

They're putatively bad guys, but they're so insignificant, who could hate them?

Sounds like we can have whoever we want from the Big East if we invite them.

According to a published report, Missouri, a member of the Big 12, will leave to join the SEC. That will leave the Big 12 with nine teams. The league is debating whether to go with a 10- or 12-team membership.
BYU, Louisville and West Virginia, in that order, are on the Big 12's radar. BYU has had conversations with the Big 12.
If the league goes to 12, BYU Louisville and West Virginia would all get invites. The Big East would then turn to Temple and hope Army can be convinced to join its football brethren. Most likely the Big East football conference will break and the league will go back to its basketball roots.
