*****The Super, Mega, Huge Big 12 Expansion Thread*****

If there is any truth to the rumors of FSU wanting to explore their options, than the only places that makes any sense is SEC or Big 12 (Much lower obviously). So say FSU joins SEC, ACC makes a play for either WVU or UConn. Now you have 2 unstable conferences freaking out like the Big 12 did. This would the reason I see pulling 3 teams from the big east is easily doable with a new reformatted big 12. But who knows, certainly not anyone posting online.

I don't really think FSU is planning anything drastic. The word here in ACC country is that they formed a conference reallignment committee simply to make plans for several scenarios, should things "hit the fan".

Personally I think they're more likely to jump to the SEC than Virginia Tech, but my uneducated guess is that they don't jump ship. If you're goal is a national championship, why leave the ACC which is a sound conference with much fewer trap games on the way to the championship.

I don't see any way they take two Kansas teams and leave ISU out.

This is just a guess by a person who doesn't know anything. My guess is if the people close to the situation think OU and UT are staying, that is more likely than the above.

Funny - Tom Dienhardt's name hasn't come up around here in a very long time. That delta bravo is historically the king hater of all things ISU outside of the state of Iowa. This doucher has never had one positive thing to say about ISU in any piece of drivel he has ever written. EVER. And we're talking predating CF here. It does not surprise me one iota that Dienhardt left ISU out of his realignment opinion - if it ever came to pass I would expect nothing less than for him to do a Chunk dance out of pure joygasm...

The one thing I do know in this confernece realinment thing is that Tom Deinhart has absolutely no idea. That guy is totally worthless, he will be the LAST one to know.

Why? They probably want Missouri and Kansas the most out of those three and Kansas would probably lobby to take K State. Adding both Kstate and Iowa state doesn't do much for them in terms of $ and that is what this is about. Kansas at least might pull in some of the KC market.

KU is brings nothing you don't already get with Mizzou. They split the KC area and the rest of MO is > than the rest of KS.

How would Mizzou and Kansas have any room/power to lobby for anything? MU, KU, and ISU would easily be in the best interests of the Big East.

Would the Big East allow that JUCO in Manhattan to join? They have to have some kind of academic standards don't they?

Conflicting reports from Boomer/Rivals guys, the Oklahoma BOR is still meeting on Monday, but supposedly this is a cover up and the Big 12 is going after 3 BE teams according to one Rivals guy, the other has the "new" BE conference mapped out?

I think all of these KU-KSU and OU-OSU schools being "linked" is just complete garbage. For one, it is the conferences poaching teams that are in the position of power, not OU or KU. What's to stop the Pac-12 or Big East from just telling KU and OU to go suck an egg if they demand that they also take their little brothers? If this is truly all about TV sets and subscription dollars then there is no way any conference is going to agree to take a lesser, and overlapping, KSU or OSU team when they could go out and grab a school from another state that has zero representation in the conference. Just step back and think about it, it makes zero sense.

I agree completely. But on the other hand, the majority of conference realignment in general makes zero sense. Yet here we are.

If these guys meet just because they like to meet that will be a new one. Typically everything is decided pre-meeting and the meeting is just a legal formality. I think OU has made their decision unless the meeting gets cancelled.
