The Rex Grossman Experiment

Are you watching the same game as me?? Dallas didn't deserve to win this game?!?!

Let's see they had a phantom P.I call on T.O. A terrible block in the back call that was far from it, and another phantom holding call on Jones run down to the 2. (Let's not even get into the clock thing at the end of the half) and yet they are still going to win 34-10. I would say they more than deserved it.

I don't even like the Cowboys. I get sick of my families love for the team, but I think it is pretty obvious they are on of the better teams in the league and Romo is not just a 1 year wonder. The boy can play. He reminds me of Favre

The first half was really, really bad. Some mistakes in the 2nd half, but finally got some things together. At halftime though, I wasn't thinking good and at that point, Dallas certainly didn't deserve to be tied.

Romo is just amazing...making guys miss, great decisions, instincts, etc. Plus, he just loves to play. A fountain of youth of sorts for the team.

Of course, all things are well when ya win.

Crazy though, a guy like Romo goes undrafted. Excellent story.

"I felt like we were in control of the game there for a while." -Rex Grossman

As if he needed to further prove that he isn't very smart.

Stat line in '07 for Grossman...

12/23, 145 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT - 53.7 rating
20/34 160 yards 1 TD, 2 INTs - 56.0 rating
15/32 195 yards, 0 TD, 3 INTs - 27.5 rating

That won't cut it...even for the 2000 Ravens.

Should have...certainly - but the fact they weren't was only their fault and no one else's. Dropped balls, penalties, etc - were horrible in the first half.

The ship was righted at halftime.

It was nice, to get over 300 yards passing and over 100 yards rushing vs. the great Bear defense. Although, 54 of the rushing yards did come in garbage time, off that nifty run by Barber.

How much worse could Griese or Orton do? I'm being serious.

Grossman has played one team with a good defense (Chargers), one team with an average defense (KC) and one with a below average defense (for now).

And his numbers suck in each game. So why not make a change? Eventually that locker room is going to blow up...

I'm a firm believer that the size of the Dallas Cowboys offensive line and how physical they are is the reason that the Cowboys' offense has exploded in the second half in each of the last three games. I don't think it's coincidence.

The Bears defense is built on speed and agility. We weren't running the ball well on them in the first half, so we went away from it and threw the ball more. After they were worn down a little bit, Dallas shoved it down their throats.

Amen. Finally an offensive line that is good again.

And...I'm lovin' Jason Garrett. Finally our meddling owner (making Garrett a part of the staff before the head coach was hired) got it right. :notworthy:

Players love him (Garrett), but again, why wouldn't they - Dallas is 3-0 and has one of the best offenses in the league. Moving TO around, feeding the Witten, using Barber/Jones correctly, bringing along Crayton, Hurd and Fasano, etc.

The game vs. the Patriots in 3 weeks should be a dandy. However, I hope Dallas doesn't do what I just did - and overlook St. Louis and Buffalo.

As long as they don't, they aught to be 5-0 when the host New England (who should also be 5-0).

I'm not expecting to beat New England. I still have nightmares of what Randy Moss did to us when his uniform was purple.

Being a bears fan, im ready to see Grossman ride the bench. hes one of the most fustrating players i've ever watched. Griese is far from a prise, but at least he wont make stupid mistakes over and over again. We almost have to be looking qb in the 1st round next years draft.

In his prime, Griese was a pretty good QB. Jeff Garcia nearly resurrected his career last year. Give Griese a start and see what happens. I'm with you on this....how could he possibly play worse than Grossman? Is Lovie worried about shaking Rex's confidence by benching him? Too freaking late!!

At some point, Lovie's got to decide that burning games early in the season could dig a hole that they can't climb out of after making a change.

Especially with the NFC North being not so crappy this year.

Packers looking good (and staying healthy the key) so far. Lions don't stink, just can't play defense (who needs to vs. the Bears) and Minnesota isn't a bad team.

He'll definitely be feeling more pressure if the Packers keep playing as they are. The Bears had a huge division lead last year, so Lovie could get away with sticking with Rex. Afterall, he was winning and they had a hold of the NFC North by its sack.

Rex Grossman is our quarterback.
Rex Grossman is our quarterback.
Rex Grossman is our quarterback.

Unfortunately Lovie said this last year....when the Bears were winning. It is hard to bench a starting QB when the team is 13-3. The Defense was winning games and Rex wasn't losing them. So people were ok with his average play because that's all the Bears needed. But that was last year.

This year the defense is playing well enough (with the exception of the 4th quarter last night when things snowballed) for the team to be 3-0 but Grossman is making winning much tougher with the picks he is throwing. And that pick-6 didn't help anything last night.

It is frustrating to see such a good defense on the field and such a bad offense.
