To get you in the proper mood, following please find a youtube video of a fairly nondescript (one would surmise) game. As way of background, this is a Big East Quarterfinal match between an underperforming team and a heavily favored, physical team. Mind you, this is not even a semi-final tournament game, much less a championship one. A run of the mill, nondescript tourney game. Just one among several played that day at that arena.

Except...it's played in New York. In Manhattan. In midtown. And it's UCONN. In their house.

How many houses does UCONN have? Don't they play in an arena sometimes and a round house the other games?

I was expecting something more. Not to mention it was what appeared to be a game winning buzzer beater, of course its gonna be loud[ish]. Dont get me wrong, im sure it will be the equivalent of a home game for UCONN, but we did beat kansas in KC this year.

To paraphrase the great Jamaal Tinsley in reference to the supposedly ubber historic, super awesome, unbelievably intimidating Phog Allen Fieldhouse: "Its just another gym." I believe when you are talented, mentally tough, and have the Mayor as your coach that this holds, even for MSG. We play in the greatest venue in basketball, so to slum it for a weekend in NYC at MSG...forget about it.

The first few posters from UConn this week made me think that maybe we could move past the 2012 tournament and the Cy incident at the football game and actually be kindred spirits with this fanbase that is actually living our worst realignment nightmare. But then they have to come and post this kind of crap.

Dude. We're talking about east coasters. There's no conceivable way that the midwest and east coast could possibly get along.

So true. With Louisville leaving the AAC, it will fade into mediocrity. UConn has 3, maybe 4 good years left before the talent washes up. Then they become a true mid-major.

It's kind of offensive to suggest that a college basketball fan hasn't seen the Kemba highlights from 2011.

The UConn football stadium also says its "your house." We all know better.

Just got the chills...because I remember how nervous I was the yellow flag would be thrown on that play as the new rule was in place and I figured we'd be the first to get the "premature celebration" flag.

Also, that game in general...went from a dumpster fire to a "crown Steele king of Ames" in about an hour. That was also the game where Lenz had a killer sideline catch Rhoads has said was one of the best he's ever seen.

Oh god that game was a giant **** show... even if we won that game and the next.
