The Last Jedi?

I'm pretty much Disney's dream consumer. I'll get excited about these movies as long as they keep churning them out. And now that my daughter is a fan, I'm even more locked in. I can't help myself. I've even found it in my heart to forgive them for Episodes I, II and III.....well, except Jar Jar....meesa no forgive them for that mess.

I thought it was OK, but really should have explained some things, even if it was just in the opening crawl, like who the sides were (at all).

I'm pretty meh on Luke. Once the original trilogy showed what Jedi were really known for, he really became a lot less impressive. I'm sure they can build him up to be stronger than they could at the time, and they really ought to.

The new characters have a lot of potential. They're off to a good start there.

I don't know how you can get too hung up on Jedi powers from the original trilogy vs the prequals. They are totally inconsistent. None of the lightsaber duels in the originals come close to anything in the prequals. The vader vs obi-wan battle is especially pathetic and that should have been epic. Luke is the only one who comes close to demonstrating prequal Jedi powers when he kicks everyones ass on Jabba's sail barge.

I for one liked Rogue One more than TFA. But, it really did miss that John Williams score. The music was awful compared to what we are used to. I think if it would have had more badass Vader, it would have been even better. He should have been down on the planet killing everyone. It did line up with ANH really well and I loved the scenes with the old X-wing pilots from E4. Maybe more nostalgia than anything.

New trailer...man, they went out of their way not to show much.

It's not like Lucas had unlimited money for the first film (Episode IV) to blow on extended fight scenes.

The only other prequel they should do is a Vader sequel where he hunts down the remaining Jedi in his search for Obi-Wan. They won't do it because of how dark it would have to be but that would be cool.

Agreed.

I think one thing people also miss about the two trilogies is that the original trilogy, it is not like everything was completely hashed from the beginning. I am sure that Lucas had a good vision for the original trilogies, but when the prequels came around he thought it would be better if he could expand on the Force powers.

I get it. I'm just pointing out that it seems silly to me to knock Luke for his lack of force powers in the original trilogy when that was a general inconsistency across the board. It doesn't bother me at all.

Meaning?

Singular or plural the title states last...so no more after this movie? The title sucks.

Why no more after this movie? Even if it is singular and Luke is the last Jedi ever, they could have 100 movies with him in it.

Here is a potential spoiler:
There is a rumor that Luke Uses the force to manipulate a star destroyer. Would be crazy to seem him use the force to crash a star destroyer but obviously not counting on it.

Someone in the Lucas org has just had a boner for this idea for a long time. LucasArts included it as a "moment" in Force Unleashed but it was one of the most aggravating things to execute in a game full of aggravating things to execute.

Yeah, that trailer felt like the trailer for the trailer. They could show a dude in aluminum foil with a flashlight and they'll break box office records. I expect the next few trailers to show a bit more.

Goddamn, make it rated R and with the whole movie like a Game of Thrones episode.
