The infamous holding call

It did need the needle threaded, as there were 1-2 defenders close to the flight path of the ball. Despite what you probably want to think, Purdy has shown multiple times he can do. He didn't that time, he threw off his back foot (a tendency of his)

It certainly wasn't an easy throw to make, but one that he has made before several times.

Yeah, live he looked wide open but in real time the ball had to be placed and thrown with velocity. It wasn't anything close to a routine throw.

Besides the 1 hurry and 1 tackle, I expect Hawk fans will start tracking mean looks given by Epenesa any minute now. Or maybe how many times he drank Gatorade. Anything to boost his numbers.

Well, they did try to track anytime that Campbell looked the general direction of across the field. They even thought he was staring at the captain when he looked at the offensive players back by the 50 after the touchdown. Barta is definitely a leader of the look for anything we can twist group.

Yep, just another example that can be put into the old "Most Sensitive Fans in the Country" file....

You know what...I haven't watched it again...but you can play that game all day. They could call a penalty on nearly every play if they wanted to.
Which is all of ours point, they swallowed their whistles all game for much worse, and then call something that wasn't even there when it benefited iowa the most. That call negated a pass interference that would have put us at 1st and 10 in field goal range with 2min left. Calls like that severely effect close games like on saturday.

Anytime there is a close game, any fans of losing teams can easily look at the officials for a call or two that could have changed the game one way or the other. This will never change. Iowa fans do it too.

Yep. Better to be lucky than good

Big difference between a call that could have gone either way on the first or second quarter and a botched call on 4th down of our last drive of the game. Apples and oranges.

And Iowa has scored 18 points against defenses that aren't terrible...
I agree. Hawks will more than likely have to score more than 18 to beat Wisconsin or Michigan or most of the teams remaining on the schedule.
This would make a lot more sense if a bunch of posters were actually blaming the refs though... Twins is trolling and you guys are STILL too dumb to figure that out...
Some of us Realize this and have fun with it.

You kicked field goal on that possession. I remember a hit in the middle of the field around the 15ish, but it wasn’t a PI, it was right in front of us and I double checked the board replay and it was even less of one there.

The play I'm talking about the ISU defender was way early with the contact and then rode him until the ball arrived. It was easy PI, but wasn't called.

Kinda like the one against Scates earlier in the game then that negated what would have been a big 20+ yard gain?

See how this can go round and round?

The second coming? Why are you guys so upset about Purdy? It's not like the narrative he's a top 10 QB in the country is just coming from CF

I didn't watch you guys much during conference play last year, but Purdy is confusing to me.
He was amazing in conference play.
Against Drake? Not so hot.
Against Washington State? God awful.
Against UNI? Pedestrian.
Against Iowa? Better but made crucial mistakes - that was a winnable game against Iowa's struggling secondary.

Why is he so good vs conference opponents but not good vs anybody else? The sample size is getting too big to ignore. Either he's been unlucky 4 straight times, or maybe big 12 defenses make average players look good.

Wrong.

Go argue your nonsense with all those national (and local) pundits that disagree with you.
