ESPN Gameday has been advertising heavily for two days now that they will be in Iowa City with Hawkeyes vs #1 Columbus Manly Men. Looking for your game score prediction as spotlight will be on Iowa City and their fans. We can probably hear the yelling from Iowa City in Ames when Lee Corso, the Herbster, and Chris Fowler start cranking. Those nice IowaCity fans should be well behaved. Right, MB?

To start off predictions: Iowa City 10, Columbus 31. Tate throws a tantrum.

35-17. 1st half will be 17-10, OSU. I think it could be close until the 2nd half comes around.

remember, it's THE Ohio State University...how arrogant must you be to require a THE before your school name? Signed THE C.John

I remember when GameDay was in IC like 10 years ago when either Michigan or tOSU was in town; they ended up getting smoked big time. So I expect that to happen again. Iowa keeps it close for a half, then the Bucks turn it on in the 2nd half like they've done all season. I got tOSU 28- Iowa 13.

CJohn,
The reason for the "THE" in the title is to help EIU fans to remember that the OSU campus is located in Ohio and NOT Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, or Iowa. Heaven forbid that Hawkeye fans would find themselves in East Lansing when their BBall team plays the Buckeyes this upcoming season. The OSU was just making the needed "mental" accommodations for our stepchild in Iowa City.

lol, the Tate reaction predictions are more fun than the scores :D

Ah, yes, the battle of the Eyes. They should have some kind of an gnarly eyeball trophy for OSU to keep at their place year after year.

Tate's fit should be of epic proportions. I am hoping to see him face down on the field pounding his fists and kicking his feet. Waaaaaaaaah!

I highly doubt Iowa wins this game, but I think the emotion of the crowd will keep them in it and the score is close. I could really see them winning this thing.

24-17 OSU, and Herky is sexually assulted by Brutus at midfield in a fit of post-game glee.

49-3 and Tate tries to tackle the Ohio State kicker when he walks by the sideline and gets a concussion and Iowa fans talk for a year straight about how Tate would have made it 56-49 Iowa.

Well duh...The University of Iowa doesn't lose games they either:
  1. Beat themselves (by turnovers, bad players, not scoring as many points as the opponents)
  2. Get beat by the refs

42-17

Drew so upset he loses bodily control.

Luke at zee big baby! Is zee big baby wetting himself?

OSU 37-3. Tressel decides to pull the first team mid-way through the second quarter to save them for a real game and Hawk fans send threats to the referee's who obviously had it out for them since time began.

OSU is going to shred EIU's secondary and will either gain major yards and TD's or EIU will have record penalty yards from pass interference calls. Of course(as one homer EIU fan said on Marty & Miller), the only reason they are calling pass interference is because of the tighter coverage that the hawks are putting on teams this year.

That was a good one. Funny but true. Although the head at Hawkeye Nation was rippppping POOR LITTLE Adam Shada about his cornerback play to date on talk radio. Wait till Saturday and then he will have something to complain about.

Big day for Iowa. BIG, BIG day.

The last time that I can recall Gameday being in IC was in the late 90's when they faced OSU. Tim Dwight was in an Iowa uniform yet even he couldn't help the Hawks enough.

OSU took off to an early lead. Iowa made a run in the 2nd half - sparked by an amazing punt return for TD by Dwight, but it wasn't enough.

I'd love to see Iowa win the game...seriously. Good for them if they take down Ohio State.

They'll need a near-perfect game in order to do it of course.

OSU wins hands down, but goes on to lose several games due to the absence of Troy Smith, who is hit by Tate's thrown helmet and falls into the puddle of Tate's tears that has accumulated in the depression left by him pounding his fists on the ground during his 3rd tantrum.
