The future - ChrisW, KG? . . .

Wilkins, Clark, Oto, Barnes, Jett, Pressey...Guessing three of those six, but I haven't been able to get a clear indication who we want as top priority other than Wilkins.

Is Wilkins the top priority because he is the most likely to land?

I ask because I look at Clark as the one I would target as the one we most "need". He looks like a banger, which I want.

Is Wilkins more skilled?

Many of you will disagree with me but I honestly think our future lies with Colvin.

The Beer glass is broken and there aren't funds to fix.

We'll have to wait till after next year when we can "FIRE" GMac and get a new coach in Ames that can fix the glass or put up a new glass and at can at least hold some water. This is the lowest point for Cyclone Basketball that I have ever seen.

Sad but true.

Definitely not blah...Just a different feel, hard to explain. Just in comparison to the the team before Ham, Gilstrap, and Brackins left. I think Buck still works out with the team until the end of the semester(was not there when I was).

I think the different feel just may be that the gym is eerily quiet after another offseason mass exodus. The future's so bright ... I gotta wear shades.

Until we get some shooters to pull the D away from the basket we wont go anywhere. Even Fizer had the shooters to help open things up. Look at our season after Nurse left and he was only one of three long range bombers. Our bigs will never rule the paint without this. My opinion but go back and look at our successful teams and there is one constant.

While we need shooters... we need ball handlers.. we need bigs... we need athletic wings that can handle the ball.

This^^

Good summary of the state of the program. No one can even agree on our biggest needs. We need shooters, we need guards, we need post players, we need coaching......

Decent chance to land them both, but IMO, Wilkins is top priority.

Clark is not a banger...

Well, the bottomline . . .

for me (each one of us has a bottom line, right?) is this: How many and which of ISU's mbb difficulties are attributable to Mac, the coach and the man, and how many and which ones are attributable to the collegiate game today and/or inherent problems with which ISU intercollegiate athletics must deal?

For example, the player transfers over the four years of Mac's time here. Is that number about average for a mediocre basketball program? Or, do ISU's numbers rank a lot higher in comparison with similar programs? I know, lots of variables that make each program unique, like all of Morgan's kids bailing after he was fired.

Mac is responsible for the ISU mbb program's problems. Yes. Responsible. But, is he the key causal factor for these ISU problems, or is he being buffeted by factors that are somewhat beyond his control?

As a fan who wishes nothing but the best for all ISU athletics programs, their athletes and coaches, but as a fan who has the blahs when thinking about ISU mbb, the question if Mac is directly culpable for the program's circumstances, for me, is a head-scratcher.

As a fan, I'm willing to persevere through more tough times . . . if I could be sure about the quality of Mac's leadership, his fitness for the program. And, I'm just not sure.

Hey, thanks for any insights anyone with informed perspective on the inner workings of the program can offer.
