Making a tournament is an automatic extension for Fran so they get another year of them at least
Looks like JoBo is going to finish 2nd all time in NCAA minutes played over 6 seasons...to Richmond's PG Gilyard.
Gilyard did it in 5 seasons. Actually in first by quite a bit.
Monte Morris is 23rd...but he did it in exactly 4 seasons and not even starting first half of his freshman year before graduating and becoming an NBA starter.
I counted it as a loss. did they win it? When I looked up that season it just said "first four" and I figured if they won a pig it would have said round of 64.
Maybe it shouldn't count as a win or a loss. I'll put it at 4-5.

My favorite stat lives on!! In all the years of Fran being a head coach (25+), he's NEVER made the second weekend of the tournament.
4-5 is throwing him a bone that it shouldn't even count as making the tournament.
4-6 is a worse record saying it counts.
My personal thought is that it's not an NCAA or a win or loss, but since it's a loss it doesn't help either way.
an 11 seed has to beat a 6 seed to get an NCAA win but a 12 seed pig game can get an NCAA win by beating a 12 seed...doesn't make sense imho. Even more dramatic when you compare a 16 seed non pig team having to beat a #1 seed to get a win compared to a 16 beating a 16.

All is as it should be. There is only one basketball school in this state. They don't even really care about basketball anyways. They deserve it.
To them, basketball is just an afterthought and a half-hearted opportunity to pound their Walmart T-shirt chests to feed their false superiority complex.
Basketball is an amazing game that must be taken seriously. You can't just hire some no-name hot-head from a low major and give him 20 chances (maybe more?) to stumble into meaningful success with a modest slice of your leftover big 10 money.
All is as it should be.
And yet Iowa and their fans ran out Dr. Tom for not making the Sweet 16 enough times.
