The Fran fade

Hawk fans/media maybe need to pump the brakes on those two "big wins"- what a crappy, crappy league.

Dont you know that is not how the media works in this state when it comes to Iowa. Those two teams were amazingly good when Iowa played them. Nebraska is coming on now also and is a good win for the Hawkeyes.

You're saying an 11 over a 6 isn't an upset? That's...a take.

Agreed if they lose the next two and first in Indy they won't be a 7 seed but their metrics will not let them drop below the 8/9 line.
Agree I don’t see them falling below 8/9, but a lot of this depends on which metrics the committee looks at.

I suspect they care a lot more about the record against Q1-2 teams and avoiding bad losses than they do offensive efficiency. But guess we’ll find out in about a week and a half.

I think if Iowa wins 3 more games they’ll get a 6 seed. That means they’d have to either win the next two (both Q1) and then one in the B1G Tournament, lose one of the next two and make the semis, or lose both and make the championship.

Yep, anything from a #6 to #11 seed is in play for Iowa right now I feel. Have a feeling they end up on the dreaded #8/#9 line. But this is house money at this point.

No, I've felt this way for a while. I think they have the tools to do some good things. They could also play a team like Auburn or TT in the second round and just get absolutely drilled too. I think this team is even better equipped than last season, I think Murray is that special.
Did they ship in new guards at semester break?

Any team with a guy as talented as Murray has a chance to make a run. It's all about matchups. If Iowa gets some favorable matchups and Murray goes off, they can make a run. If they run into a team with a great backcourt capable of exposing the limitations of Bohannon/Toussaint/McCaffery and/or Murray doesn't score 20+ or isn't efficient doing it, they'll lose.
