@CyTwins, can you please, please, please start a thread entitled Hawkeyes will never make the Sweet 16? I mean we all know they can't make it, so it is a no brainer so you should start a new thread right now about that.
I'm not saying they should play 26 games. I'm saying they need to make the conference smaller. Loading your conference full of garage teams and then getting lucky to play the best teams only once is garbage. Just like your football scheduling, you could skip playing all the teams that matter.
LOL, Iowa's SOS is ranked #5 according to Kenpom. The Big10 is regarded as the toughest conference this year, and Iowa has 20 conference games.
In Iowa’s defense, they’re 7-4 against teams in the AP Top 25. I’d take that any day.
That's why they increased to 20 games. Th unbalanced schedule sucks sometimes but you just have to take the good with the bad. Conferences are not going to get smaller so there's no use whining about it.

I don’t know if this is true. I think we are getting close to the precipice of the TV money bubble and their will be a shifting to more regional conferences like the pod divisions that I think Bill Connolly suggested. Tough to tell though.
There definitely is some craziness. Who would have thought 25 years ago that Creighton would be playing basketball in the Big East?

Only because the Big 10 has gotten a lot of love this year I don't necessarily deserve. I think in a few weeks we will all be talking about how overrated the Big 10 is after most teams get knocked out early. I would be surprised if they have more than 1 team in the Elite 8.
I know, Iowa's SOS is much tougher than ISU's SOS that is for sure.
Well if the tournament goes chalk then there probably will only be 1 Elite 8 team from the Big 10. There will only be 1 team that's a 1 or 2 seed. The conference is deep with quality teams but not a lot of top level teams. I don't know what to tell you if you don't understand that. Football season must have been very confusing for you too because the Big 12 was the football version of the same thing.
