The Fran fade

Your last sentence surprises me a bit. In the few times I have watched your crew they played mentally tough and demonstrated "grit". Do you think the spread was to much for them to overcome mentally? Is it that while there defense has improved this year still not enough to overcome that kind of deficit? *****this is not a pre-troll I am genuinely asking******

Good question that I have no answer for. The defense seemed slow in getting out to the shooters and Purdue couldn't miss. They had guys that were shooting really low percentages go off last night. The few times they did miss, they got the rebound. It was bad night for Iowa and a great night for Purdue.

Oh I held out hope (basically because like you posted Iowa has been mentally tough this year), but I will say at the time my inclination was that it was over.

If you had our history at Purdue you would understand. It is a house a horrors, I think we have won once there in like 20 years or something stupid like that.

In all sports you see a team get a quick jump early. If the jump is to big the other side kind of folds in and "motions" through the balance of the game. Was it like that? It wasn't that Painter has some grand scheme that was impossible. He is a solid coach but I don't think he game plans THAT well.

I don't think it was like that at all. Iowa was stunned for sure and everytime you thought they might be able to get it back within range, Purdue would hit two or three more three pointers really quick. They folded with about 10 minutes to go in the second half though when they were down by 39 points.

Have you ever been there? I have many times. It is kind of a dumpy building(especially by b10 standards) and it is odd. It is LOUD when they get going and kind of dingy. Weird vibe.

That is impressive they fought that long. Games like those are brutal. p.s screw you and the rest of the Hawks here. We are supposed to be arguing. Jerk.

I have not been there, but I think it would be cool to visit once.

To your question, as @iahawks said, they would hit a couple 3 when we cut the lead. At one point we got it to 12, and then they hit back to back 3's and were up 18 all of a sudden.

Apparently not playing defense is a bad strategy

Yelling Iowa sucks on the same night ISU loses by 15 while Iowa is ranked in the top 20 and ISU is 9-13 screams little bro.

On the rivals site 24/7 when your team is trying to be in the think of the B1G race screams little bro.

That and you know what is coming with the end of the season and this helps keep your mind off of it.

At least you're not used to it, that's every damn game for us.

Most of our games have periods, sometimes most of the game, where it's within reason. Then something happens and suddenly were down 15+ for the remainder of it. It's happened multiple times this season... and it's infuriating every time.
