I don't think I'm exaggerating when i say the consensus of this board is that he sucks and only plays because his father is Fran. I disagree with that. He plays an important role on the team. He's the best post entry passer on the team. As long as garza is on the team that will be an important role in itself. Its not simply throwing it to garza its where and when he does it. He alo finds shooters quite frequently which we have quite a few. Its not a death blow that he's not a shooter because he accepts it and we have capable ones. He also does provide toughness. Sometimes that gets overstated but for too long we had many soft wings. He's of a different mental makeup. He commonly guards the other teams 4 and for the most part we don't suffer because of it. If he was on anothet team maybe he's not an important piecd but on this Iowa team he is

Well being Fran's son does give him a head start at being dislikeable.

He's so mentally tough he only had one public meltdown accusing of the IHSAA accepting money for him not to win Mr Basketball in Iowa

The ref situation. And I wouldn't say it's much chippier than ever, IA vs IL was fierce years ago.
