Not a troll, but Iowa wins games like this ISU loses. Not sure when that will change, but these types of results are getting old. Some winnable games still left but the clones just missed two good opportunities

It's coaching. Iowa had good coaches, ISU does not. Way too many mistakes, poor development, poor execution, all around awful job by the coaches. Except Wally, that man is a wizard.

Just think what Kirk Ferentz would do with this ISU team. Probably 6 or 7 wins IMO. But Rhoads will win 2 or 3 this year.

And KF isn't all that great, but at least we would be fundamentally sound, which is a far cry from where we are now.

Right now the difference is that Iowa's kicker can make a 57 yard FG from the left hash to win it, but Iowa State's can't make the same kick 25 yards closer.

Yeah he missed an easy FG, but our kicker is one of the better positions on this team

2 wins

Remember 2 years ago when everyone was convinced our coaches were head and shoulders above Iowa's? Good times.

There was truth to that at the time. Onside kicks called at the right time. Fakes, and being aggressive on 4th down. Hawkeye nation was deep in jealousy (not for Rhoads to be their coach though) when Jantz was pulled and "on a hunch" 3rd string Sam was put in vs KU.

A couple Cyclone fans I was watching the game with tonight actually said Iowa is a funner team to watch this season. I dont think I have ever heard that ever.

I believe you...I am sure they said "funner" instead of "more fun" team.
I agree....CJ runs like he is trying to win. Our team has no soul.

The fact that they said funner proves they are actually tavern hawks.

Getting old? They are already old for those of us who've seen it way too many times before!

I don't know if Iowa hired Ferentz because he was an experienced O-line coach, but his ability to recruit and coach solid lines on both sides of the ball has been the key to his success. Yeah, it sounds like a cliche, but a good football team is built from the interior out. For whatever reason--and I'm sure we, as ISU fans, can list dozens of excuses--the Cyclone football program hasn't figured that out.

iowas o-linemen? beefy, sturdy, technically sound

winning solves everything. nobody talks about freerentz' inflated salary the last couple weeks. just like in '08 when they won 10 games,. they just got over an 18-month stretch of drug, rape, alcohol arrests in '06-'07

Kirk was under fire big time . winning made all of that go away
