The Dean-Hodge Breaker

I'll let you argue that to the committee that chooses the Hodge, and see how that goes for you. Look at the criteria, and tell me if you see any of what you just said in the criteria.

I'm fully aware of the criteria, and some of it prevents some guys from ever being eligible purely due to their team's schedule and thus their opponents throughout the year. However, you must agree, that if someone were to miss seven weeks of the season, remain undefeated, and then defeat the favorite for the Hodge (Retherford and Imar not in the toughest weight), that should warrant some consideration.

I absolutely do not agree. Sounds like you would like to change years of history so that it suits your son. Did you ever argue for something like this for someone other than him?

I've argued other wrestling 'stuff' for others than my son...yes. For instance, for years and years in MD, they had Lloyd 'Butch' Keaser as ranked #2 on the All Time Greatest List. My argument was that he should be #1, because he was the only World Champion and Olympian (silver medalist). Obviously, this was prior to Kyle Snyder's accomplishments. The rankings were eventually changed. So, for someone to go undefeated and to dominate...in the toughest weight class, and to defeat a 2x NCAA champ who is arguably the top candidate for the Hodge, means nothing to you? I see. Well, one can only do with what they're given.

He has not dominated 184 this year. At 184, he is 4-0 and has 2 MFF. ONE of those 4 was a major of a 2-10, 151st ranked wrestler. Nolf, IMar, Snyder, Dean, Retherford, Nickal and others chew those guys up and spit them out, every time. Your kid isn't even reaching your first criteria of dominating 184, let alone beating Dean to win a NC.

First time all year Downey will wrestle anyone ranked ahead of him. All I ask is if he can't even beat Boyd this weekend, please no more talk about how he will dominate Dean, Nickal, Brooks and MY BOY Dudley!!

You got your popcorn ready? :)

p.s. I suppose Rotert at #5 doesn't count. After all, by match time he probably outweighed Downey by 20 lbs. YOUR BOY couldn't handle that horsepower, buddy.

Rotert? Lol. No it don't count since last I checked Downey is wrestling 184 this year unless he's gonna move up to face inferior competition. Let's see him beat Boyd who just got manhandled by Brooks

Inferior!? Yeah...#5 ranked 197 who just beat last year's Big 12 Champ...that's what I would call him...inferior. Rotert would man handle Dudley. You better lay off that Kool-Aid, pal.

p.s. I never said he would 'dominate' Dean, just the other four you mentioned. :)

Thanks for the clarification. So basically, he will beat Dean (could be tight). And he will dominate Dudley, Brooks, Nickal and Boyd. I hope I have that correct.

It has finally sunk in. Congratulations.

p.s. we're praying that Nickal doesn't change his style and goes upper body. Enjoy the flight.
