Thanks for proving me wrong Big Rob

I agree 100%. I got roasted last year for saying Jones has decent post moves and plays good defense. Many people here, not just ZRF were saying mean and nasty things like “he is not a D1 player, he should get zero minute, he should not come back next year” Can you imagine what our record would be without Jones?
I hear you. I'm wondering which player will get targeted next. How about that Watson kid..lol. The nonsense hammering on individual players is annoying, but what irritates me even more is the "what's TJ doing" crap. Are you kidding me? I absolutely love EVERYTHING TJ is doing. I'm not questioning a thing he's doing and just going to enjoy the ride. Thank you Bre, TJ, coach Green, Jamie, Tamin, Gilbert, Tre..everybody and everything that put this together because I'm having a blast!

What irritates me the most is that these people criticize Jones for every turnover and missed shot. Every player misses shots and turns it over not just Jones.

The foundation has been laid and King is in his dog house now. He’s been crickets on CuJo after ragging on him in non con and beginning of conference season

Rob's best BPM game of the Big 12 season last night. He's stacked two really good games in a row.

Disregarding the stats, Rob's toughness on the floor and intangible leadership qualities are huge for this team.

I often get a lot of flak about my previous issues with Robert Jones' play, more specifically with his over-utilization and playing time. I was often accused of having a personal vendetta against him, something that simply wasn't accurate. Statistically he was the WORST player during Big 12 play who received significant minutes. He was an offensive blackhole, a player who didn't possess the footspeed to rotate, and the stats bore that out. Moreso I was frustrated at Otz for (often) unnecessarily playing him a large number of minutes when we had a player (for most of the season) in Osun who was wildly effective when he played. While I do think Osun had (for whatever reasons) conditioning/durability limitations I still feel he was prematurely removed from games and could have (often) logged more minutes. As the stats show he was one of the best players in the league when he was on he floor.

Quite frankly I thought Robert was tapped out. Everyone knows he's not the most athletically gifted player and after being here a few years, being an upper classman, I thought he simply was who he was. But with a LOT of hard work and a headier on court presence (quicker moves and less forcing down low) he has proved me wrong. He has went from a -3.8 conference BPM, far and away the worst in the league in 2023, to a 4.4 BPM in 2024. While he's certainly not one of the better players in the league, that number makes him extremely valuable, when utilized correctly.

Thanks for proving me wrong Bob. Not wrong about your play last year, but wrong that I didn't think this sort of improvement was even possible. If there was ever a testament to what hard work can do THIS is it. Without spending the time to look I'm guessing this sort of BPM improvement, arguably in an even tougher conference, would be tough to find.

He does and always has moved extremely well for a big man. His prior issues were due to a lack of skill, not athleticism.

Even your apologies are arrogant.

I just love it when message board posters profess to be more knowledgeable than our coaches.

You know nothing about Robert Jones other than what you've observed by watching him play on TV. And even then, you're not smart enough appreciate his full impact.

Listen to TJ's comments about Robert at last night's post-game presser if you want a glimpse into Robert's real value to this team. Otherwise, please spare us your incredible basketball IQ.

I was not a fan of his the first year here (his free throws drove me nuts), but last year he showed he belonged and this year he absolutely makes the team much better. I don't think I've seen another player improve as much as BRE has over his career here. Glad he proved me wrong the first year. Glad he's a Cyclone.

Thank you for everyone who tried to get ZRF off CF, but I believe I am responsible. Donations may be made to I WILL in my name.;);)
