Thank you Cyclones!

I imagine there is a line of women in Ames waiting to help tend to Babb's injury.

This thread has mentioned many of these, but here are some of my take-a-ways from the season:
  1. I can't remember ever seeing such a mentally touch Cyclone team. When they got down, you never really felt like they were completely out of it...they had one more run.
  2. Guys bending their will to the team. Korie went from a turnover machine looking for his own shot to a great leader and facilitator, and a huge big shot guy when we needed it.
  3. Can Fred coach? Third year, third team, third style of play as he bends his coaching to the talent on the team and puts them in a great place to win. I wouldn't trade him for anyone, and will enjoy him as long as we have him.
  4. Tyrus? I am going to miss him so much. Yeah I love his Vinnie-Johnson-Microwavesque offense off the bench, but even more the pure hustle turning 50:50 balls into 90:10 balls.
  5. Babb put his offensive game on the back burner to be our defensive stopper night in and night out. What heart. Dude brought the lunch bucket every day and went to work.
  6. Will seemed to disappear at times early in the season, but was mister everything the last half of the season. It has been so long since we have had a smooth true three. Loved his ability to take guys off the bounce and willingness to rebound.
  7. Book, could have given up on the team after he lost starting and big playing minutes, but sucked it up, accepted a role off the bench and was a significant contributer. I wasn't sure he could put team above self, but he did and deserves to be honored for that.
  8. Shout out to Austin, as he brought the lunch bucket to work everyday too, and didn't get the on court glory.
  9. Melvin we-get-another-year Ejim! Mr. Double Double. Another one of my all time favorite Cyclones!
  10. The coming out of Georges Niang. Dude has only played one year and yet I feel like we already know him personally. I have been around along time and he is already one of my all time favorite Cyclones. Not home grown like Fred, but he makes you forget that. Kid bleeds Cardinal and Gold!
  11. Did you ever once hear one of the assistants during half-time not still have confidence in their voice? They all believed.
  12. Gotta think Pete Taylor would have loved this bunch! John and Eric certainly had lots of fun.

Great play by the whole team (and please ignore all the trash strewn your way during game threads of the bad games).

Thank You Cyclones! Your effort makes us proud to be Cyclone Fans! Under rated for most of the year, no one ever gave this team a chance. We are going to miss all the seniors on this team. Again thank you to them. Their effort has left us something to look forward to next year. This team has been really fun to watch.
