I didn't realize how inconsistent Bamba has been so far this season. He scored 4 pts last night - 2 of them were FTs. I can't wait to see how Lard matches up against him when they play in Hilton on Jan 1.

With the negative reaction to this post I wonder if people realize Creighton is now in the Big East and in the worst years the Big East is still the 3rd or 4th best conference.

Creighton is a major basketball program, they win, they're in a top conference, they're consistently top 20 in the nation in attendance. If they aren't majpr then I guess only about 5-7 programs are considered major programs.

Yes, we know Creighton is in the Big East and as allfourcy said, "not a blue blood".

I guess some just have to hate on McD for no reason. I don't even think about him anymore. I might if ISU bball had tanked and he was doing well but that's not the case. Let it go with McD everybody.

He thinks more highly of Creighton than I do and I disagree that they are "big time". They are a good program, but 1 NCAA appearance and zero wins in the three years without Doug. Even with Doug they got blown out of the tournament all three years they went.

I agree with you that the NCAA appearances haven't been earth shattering, so maybe big time isn't a good adjective. Its okay to have different perspective. Like I said, I've just been impressed with his recruiting, being rated often, and games with high scoring offense in a packed arena. I think Coach Prohm and our program is 'big time' , too, ! Blue blood, no. Big time, YES! But I'm not comparing the two programs at all. Just reflecting on the Creighton comment..

Its not just the talent, its the respect Smart continues to get when really he hasn't done anything at Texas.

For some on here who watched Texas suck vs. Tenn St the other night, don't let it sway your opinion. They took a good Alabama team (with 5-star pt. guard Sexton) to the woodshed last night on the road. They even had multiple guys make 3's. Bamba vs. Lard .... that could get wild. lol

I don't get the McD hate. He was a good coach that was in over his head at ISU. He learned a lot at ISU, unfortunately at ISU's expense, and has turned those lessons into success at another school. It's not his fault he wasn't ready to coach at ISU's level when he was hired. If anyone is to blame it's Pollard for failing to recognize that.
