Texas has no chance

If Texas gets in, they'll be everyone's "sleeper" team. I don't get why they get so much respect. They have talent but as far as the way their team is made up, they are a mess. Barnes just hoards talent with no regard for what position they play or the style of player they are. They end up with a bunch of guys who all bring the same thing to the table.

I definitely see both sides as far as who the good guys would end up going against, but I would lean toward Texas. Not only that, but the whole "beating 3 teams in a row" mentality would come into play too. A motivated Texas team or a desperate Texas Tech team would not be fun to play regardless.

The scariest team for ISU, Baylor, is in the other half of the bracket. I don't see Texas as a scary team and am surprised people say that. Four of the top six teams swept Texas this year (Kansas, Iowa State, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State). They have very few good wins on their schedule.

Talented, positionless guys that all do the same thing?

thatll never work at Iowa State.

But they have won their last 2, since realizing they are squarely on the bubble, and need wins.

I would say the style of play part of that sentence is more important than position less. Fred's teams play without position but are all playing with the same style. Texas can't decide if it wants to play fast or slow, offense or defense oriented.

Good thing the Big 12 officials have such a stellar reputation. Otherwise, I would be worried about playing a major school with gobs of money and power that is in need of one more win in order to get them into the NCAA tournament.

They did have a good win over Baylor. But the other game was against K-State. And both of those were at home. K-State went 1-8 on the road this year in the Big 12 (only win @ OU on Jan. 10). So that game doesn't say much about Texas.

If Texas beats Tech, I'm sure they will feel as though a win over Iowa State would lock up a spot for them in the dance. It will be a motivated team. I'm glad we get them coming off of zero days rest this time, unlike in 2012.
Yep - no rest for all those bigs.

Pretty much this. This is like playing KU, you gotta be 10 points better than them otherwise the refs will hand Texas the game. And with Barnes hack-a-clone style, I fully expect to get hosed

It's weird how people missed the point of this thread.

Haha. I'm not piling on because I could not care less about a jinx, but your original post was so wrong. Not only did Texas win, J'Covan Brown led them with 23 pts. The only correct part was that Missouri did advance.
