Texas game is on the Longhorn Network

I'm one of those Gen X people that still use DirecTV satellite service. I remember going through this a couple of years ago ... I had to add the SportsPack for a month for $15.99 and I can watch it on my satellite receiver. However, I was trying to get this all set up so the kids could watch on the DirecTV app or DirecTV.com from across the country but that doesn't work - tech support told me since LHN is considered a regional channel, it is only available via the satellite receiver and not any streaming options for me.

ESPN+ says it will be on the app. Are they lying to me? If I click on OK, they have to show it to me, don't they?

My experience is not necessarily.

A lot of the time it looks like it is available ahead of time, but at the time of the event it will ask to confirm my cable/streaming provider. So if your cable/streaming provider has LHN, then you should be able to watch.

However, I think that ESPN doesn't filter all events because over the last 6 months there are games I have been able to watch that weren't on my streaming provider.

We have DirectTV with the Sportspack and it was not available for me here in Iowa last year or the year before when we played them down there and it was on the LHN.

Pretty sure everything on ESPN networks and streams show up on the app, but when you actually try to watch something not available to your tv provider the stream doesnt work. usually it will have a logo for LHN, or whatever channel it is on.

Sometimes it lets you watch for a few mins then asks for valid log in connection via a provider.

My guess if you do not have your ESPN+ account paired with a cable or streaming provider that hosts the LHN it will not work.

It would be the same if you didnt have access to ESPN through a provider, and tried to watch the stream on ESPN+ via the app. Without a linked provider you dont get the programming on their main channels.

At least that is the way it has been, unless something recently changed.

Last year when we played them on the LHN I was able to watch for free on ESPN+ w/ just a subscription to YTTV. I'm not sure if that was a weird thing though; because i wouldn't think it would be available on espn+?
I have DirecTV Stream, but do not have a package that includes LHN, yet I am able to watch it on ESPN+. Not sure why, but I am not complaining. I am going to be switching from DirecTV Stream to something else (probably YouTube TV) as the cost is just gotten to high, but have been waiting for the game tomorrow to conclude before I do that.

Maybe this is the last game for the Shorthorn Network. Maybe we can get a win. That would be neat. Horns Down. Texas, don’t let the door hit your steer on the way out.

Anybody know a place in Ames where they can confirm that they have LHN for the game tonight?
