Wishing all of ya well during the flooding in the north Texas area - I know we have a few members from around there.

CNN link

Two people have already been reported dead, one a 4-year old child. She was swept from her mother as their boat capsized. :sad9cd:

Thanks for thinking of us! I slept right through it, though. In fact, I used to live in apartments just down the street from where all of that flooding occurred. I was glad not to be in that area last night. Our family is OK, but I know some people from work who had damage. We have needed the rain desparately, but it just doesn't know how to shut itself off sometimes.

Thank you for your concern!!

One unfortunate reality that you might have inferred from reading the article...land in the flood planes is cheap...cheap land gets bought up and turned in mobile home parks...mobile homes are not very resilliant to flooding...

It's truly amazing how the little creeks, with their deep banks and streams that dribble along 99.99% of the time, turn into raging rivers and overflow their banks quickly after a heavy rain. When I lived up north, I didn't see that happening to the extent it does down here...

Same thing in H-town. When it starts to pour it is amazing how fast those things fill up!
