I'm sure there are people running that team that understand a great collection of talent is not the same as a great team, but they can't help themselves.

This is also what happens when your coaches play their own players to the detriment of the rest of the team. Perhaps the worst USA basketball team...team-wise/coach-wise...that I've ever witnessed. Individual players were fine, but the effort that went into actually coaching them during the game was unforgivable.
