Team USA U19 Thread

I don't know much about the US team but just checking in it looks like it's made up of a lot of stretch 3/4 type players that all do the same thing.

Sounds like some "positionless" Hoiball pace-and-space roster construction to me.

Don’t think Omaha scored at all. In the third when China had the big run, the US was settling for mid range jumpers and threes, and turning the ball over. They ramped up the defense and started going to the hole and getting to the foul line. Have to be aggressive in Fiba as the won’t call and offensive foul unless you clearly dip your shoulder into someone.

Quarterfinal game is live

Omaha scored the first bucket for USA. Looks like the put him on one of Japan's best offensive players too

Omaha is bigger, faster, and stronger than almost everyone out there. His set shot from three is coming in nicely, 3-D NBA player from day one.

REALLY impressed with that Cody Williams (incoming freshman to Colorado). He and Omaha were Team USA's best players on the court. 1 on 1 versus Omaha, Cody has the advantage on the wing, but would get absolutely bodied down low.

The Jaz Kunc spot in the offense will be perfect for Omaha's game. In addition, Biliew can run the floor a lot better and has the threat to blow by a defender versus Jaz

Watched most of the third qtr and 4th. Didn't see Omaha at all, USA falls to France by three.
Quit watching early 3rd quarter when Omaha had not played at all and was tired of watching 1 guy dribble the ball for 28 seconds and then launch an airball or drive against all 5 French defenders and get stuffed at the rim!!! A better assembled Team USA with some actual “TEAM” players who wanted to actually win and not just “get theirs” would have won this tournament easily. Just put Lipsey on this team and they win

Didn’t look like they were even coached at all. Extremely frustrating to watch!!!

Couldn’t believe how tall France was. Omaha didn’t get to see the floor much at all, poorly coached and not much defense either!

Yeah, he started, had a few turnovers in the first few minutes, then got benched the rest of the game.
Maybe he got frustrated, looked to me like a lot of rough pushing and shoving going on with no calls in the paint, except for jump balls. USA player got called for throwing an elbow when he got hacked by three french players and was trying to clear a rebound (He clearly had possession). Oh well.
