Why do you disagree with my question Urbandale2013?

And that is the issue with subjective penalties. It just sucks that 2 plays into the game a guy gets kicked out. I get that they want to take that play out of the game but it is a stronger penalty than they have in pro football.Nearly impossible is not impossible, defenders do that all the time, but yes sometimes it's going to end up like this and that sucks.
I was trying to answer your question and didn't want to respond. It was like the second play of the game so no.Why do you disagree with my question Urbandale2013?
I’m 100% with you on it sucking. And that is the issue with subjective penalties. It just sucks that 2 plays into the game a guy gets kicked out. I get that they want to take that play out of the game but it is a stronger penalty than they have in pro football.
As currently written, yes. But needs to be changed is the pointI think it was the right call. Unfortunate but accurate.
I agree it was the right call and I hope this is a big learning moment for Young. He reminds me of a young Jaquan Bailey. He let's his energy get in the way of playing smart. That play reminded me sooo much of the Texas game when Bailey did a somersault that killed momentum. Huge teaching moment.
I tend to agree. It was just an unnecessary hit, and that will get you in trouble most every time. I'm sure that is a lesson he learned today. Poor kid. I felt really bad for him when the camera crew kept cutting back to him on the sideline. Is it something they could have let go? Sure, but something like that right at the beginning of a game is going to get the refs attention. Him being Bobby Stoops son probably doesn't help.
Have to agree with this. Throwing kids out of games (unless it was really obvious) is stupid.I agree that by definition, Young committed a targeting penalty. (An aside, but so did Hathcock on his tackle, and an OU player near the end of the game, neither of which were called). The spirit of the penalty is to eliminate headhunters and cheap shots. Im fine with a 15 yd penalty bc it happened, but can't they use some goddamn common sense and not throw people out of games for non-malicious type plays like Young's? (See Enyi vs Wash St). Felt terrible for Young. Rule sucks as currently written
This should be like basketball. Flagrant 1 and flagrant 2. 1 you lead with helmet, hit head, etc.. you are out per current rule.
Flagrant 2 is a unsportsmanlike penalty and if you get a second you are gone.
this Way we stop penalizing FB plays.
Yes, but for the half or that game only.Is flagrant 1 auto ejection?
College goofball should adopt a system similar red/yellow cards in soccer. A borderline play like Isheem should be a warning that could carry over into subsequent games, but no immediate ejection unless it is especially egregiously.
