Switching between apps to watch games is a PITA

Anybody know a workaround for this? I hate when there are multiple games I want to keep track of and some of them are on YouTubeTV and another one is on ESPN+ and another one is on Peacock or Paramount+. I have a Firestick and it’s a pain to have to hit the home button, find the other app, get it to load, and find the game in the app just so I can watch for a few minutes before switching back to another game. Is Roku or Apple TV or Google TV better for this? Is there some app where you can switch between games using the same interface?

No, but been my gripe since cutting the cord. I also miss the DVR aspect too to replay something the broadcast fails to do a replay.

Through the magic of buying two of them.

I may try that for next season. Thankfully, this has so far only been a football phenomenon. I don’t believe there are any worthwhile games on streaming networks for basketball.

Go back to DirecTV. I pay less than $100/month and I don’t miss any games. I hated dealing with apps and DirecTV basically matched the price to come back.

that might be the next migration if the CTV providers lower their prices enough to make it worth it.

Some of the games are exclusive to apps though. A lot of Big 12 games are only on ESPN+. Purdue vs Arizona (I think) in college basketball a couple weeks ago was only on Peacock. The NFL game tonight was only on Amazon Prime Video. If I want to flip back and forth, cable/satellite doesn’t help me.

For how long before you make the “every 6 months” call?

I never would have left if they would have just stopped the charades. I’m too old (and had been a customer for waaaaaay too long) to have to deal with that bull ****.

DirecTV can kiss my ass until they institute a “here is what you get and we won’t **** with it anymore” deal for people who are still with them. I had, and was paying for, 6 receivers.

**** them

Hulu integrates ESPN+ nicely, but it doesn’t solve everything.

There are new tvs that use windows to have multiple apps open. I currently have a 65" smart tv with dish, roku and apps. A 42" tv with dish. A 19" tablet, a 8" tablet and a cellphone in my family room. Will replace with a 75+" multiview tv next year.

My biggest grip about Streaming is that you can't just easily flip channels. Even on ESPN plus you have to back out of the game, find the other game, then wait for it to load. If a game is somewhere else it just takes to long.

We still have Dish but only have one TV. I will put the more important game on the TV and the others on my laptop or phone.

That doesn’t work as well today as both of my colleges play. ND may be to the point where I can’t stand to watch by the time the Cyclones start. ISU definitely going on the TV but I don’t think we have anything to stream CBS. I suppose I can split screen with the Dish and put the ISU volume on.

It would even be nice if YTTV etc would just number the channels.
