Survivor 44

Matt has to be the dumbest player ever to do something like that. You make it all the way to the game and then climb something that has no positive out come. So he makes it to the top, how is he gonna get down? It's harder to get down rock climbing with no rope than it is to climb it. Just totally stupid

I kind of like the romance the two dorky kids have with each other. However, they both going home sooner than later because of it in my opinion. The New York guy is my favorite so far. He seems to be a good guy. He will be a huge target at some point. He has a little Tony in him though and Tony is a two time winner. So we shall see.

I also like the "nerd" romance. They seem to fit each other perfectly. If it becomes a life long relationship it's a nice consolation prize.

It was dumb but it will take a lot to unseat the biggest bonehead move in the history of the show:

Oh that will never be topped. He is the GOAT of bad moves. It's funny to think that every single person watching today could have easily won back then knowing what we know now. The best part of the first few survivors is watching people try and figure out what to do.

My 9 year old daughter started watching Survivor with us for the 1st time this season and is getting into the show which is fun to get her take on what goes on. I think once this season is over we are going to go back and find some prior seasons to watch over the summer. I think on my list will probably be Erik's season which was Season 16 Mirconesia Fans vs Favorites season 6 in the Amazon probably season 20 Heroes vs Villians and after watching enough eventually get to season 40 Winners at War which I think was the best ever but you kind of need to know some of the past winners to really enjoy it.

I need to go back and refresh myself on some of the seasons 1-20 when they filmed in different location and pick a few more out as there were a lot of good seasons in there. Those early seasons the production quality is a lot rougher than what it is today but the gameplay and challenges were a lot different too as you had the eating contests the quizes and the auctions plus the car challenge which all are gone from the game today but added a whole different level of entertainment and gameplay.

My daughter is 19 and started watching with me 7 years ago. We went back and have watched about 10 seasons of it on Hulu. It's really crazy what it is now compared to what it was. I honestly think it was better back then because they did Austrailia and a few other locations which added to it. Now it's the same beach basically everytime and the challenges are at the same locations.

Seemed like an obvious vote this week. Don't feel like anyone trusted Josh after his wildly bad attempts at lying. I hope Carson absolutely destroying the puzzle is a wake-up call to the producers to change things up a bit... I feel like it's one thing to train physically and get in shape, but something about having predictable puzzles that contestants can practice at home rubs me the wrong way.

Regardless, merge always provides a nice refresh in the social dynamics so I'm excited to see this play out. Feels like Danny, Carolyn, Frannie and more all have legit shots.

It may be editing but no one recognizing that carson is dominating puzzles is mindblowing

Can't blame him for doing it. But yes, no more exact repeat puzzles.

Entertainment Weekly had an online article addressing this puzzle issue. They also called on producers to quit repeating puzzles.

I thought it funny when Carolyn was telling them how she says 'bag'. She's a lot smarter than the others give her credit for. Like when the 4 others on her tribe all were around the cage and were all blaming each other for taking the idol and didn't even consider that Carolyn had it.

I agree they should change up the puzzles, or at least make the pieces different. Jeff obviously selected Carson to be on the show knowing he could do these puzzles.

I wonder why they got rid of the not sitting out in back to back challenges rule. Claire said it was her dream to play Survivor but didn't actually do anything.

After watching The Challenge since its inception, it's getting harder and harder to watch these immunity challenges. Just the same stuff over and over again, including the puzzles. Two different shows, but the Challenge has really leap-frogged Survivor in intensity and politics and the one on one or two on two nature of the gulag is always fun. It's more of a physical show where they get to really compete and less team oriented, so apples and oranges I guess. But it's made Survivor less enjoyable for me.

Carolyn is just flying under the radar abiut how well she is playing the game so far. She tells everyone she knows Josh's idol is a fake yet no one believes her or cared to listen. She seems very observant and knows when to just sit back and wait for an opportunity instead of forcing things.

Agree with the challenges, surely there are some ones they have not played in recent years they could bring back from aome of the early seasons or at least create some new ones. Just seems like since they have stuck with Fiji as the only spot to film now they have gotten lazy and just keep recycling the same challenges with maybe a slightly different twist to it.

Pretty emotional episode. Btw anyone else think Yam Yam is getting a winner edit right now? I don’t think they are giving anyone else the normal winners edit. Normally you can tell that the winner will be between a few different people that they concentrate on all the time.
I think you're onto something here... if he can rebound from being on the chopping block lately to take control (or heck, even just manage to continue surviving votes) he'll have a compelling case

Yeah I could see the two different sides start to hammer each other and someone like Yam Yam could slide through while they are doing it.

While I appreciated the emotional tribal moments hearing Matt and Yam Yam share their stories, overall not a fan of the episode and its many "twists." Jeff's doing too much. Merge should add to the pressure of playing a savvy game with the bigger pool of voters, but instead we had just 4 eligible people to be voted off. Hope we get back to basics

Yeah I am not a fan of what happened last night per say. I don't like that any type of game you have played is now out the window. It would have been better if they gave the losing tribe a chance to find a key and take a vote. At this point Survivor quit trying to make the game fair about 4 seasons ago when they had the hour glass twist that was the worst twist ever.

I didnt mind it bcuz it made someone on the other side get their hands dirty, while also drawing a temporary line in the sand.

While i think she misplayed who she took the vote away from and who it was played for, it was a new refreshing twist. She did nothing to ‘build her resume’.
