I've yet to try a Surly beer that I didn't like. They're super hipster and super trendy right now, but damn they make good beer.

Nah, the regular 2015 Darkness was stellar. I'm not sure if its the same beer as the pilsner they have on tonight, but the Surly Pils at Darkness Day was incredible.

They had a couple of cases at the Prairie Trail HyVee in Ankeny. It was $20 a bottle so I passed.

Make sure to stay away from their anniversary stuff. They haven't made anything even decent in years.

Most of their stuff is tasty though.

I've tried it, but it's not a Surly beer. It's Finnegan's, which is a special brand brewed by Summit; all of the proceeds are donated to charity (I think to combat homelessness?). I've had Dead Irish Poet and their Blonde Ale; both are "meh"...not great, but not terrible.

I thought Nein was fantastic. I wish I'd bought another bottle or 5.
