Supermoon - Blood moon eclipse

No cows went crazy here in southeast Iowa. But an owl and the neighbor geese seemed a little upset.

And here she is just now, still up (7 a.m.) Supermoon rocked the night shift.

Here is my attempt from last night. I was trying for a low ISO long exposure but there was too much motion blur so I wound up at ISO 4000, f5.0 ss = 1/4 second.

We drove outside of town...what a difference a few miles makes. No clouds...and billions of stars pop out. As opposed to in town where you see about 50. Wish I had a telescope for nights like that. I bought my nieces one last year for Christmas. Should have gotten another one!

A blue moon is two full moons in one month. When Iowa state beat Minnesota in the Insight bowl is was on the night of December 30th-- a blue moon!

Iowa state wins bowl games once in a blue moon.

There have been 2 blue moons since that night...

Blue moons happen about once every 3 years.

Well where the hell are our bowl wins??
