It looks like 5 of our MBB non-con games next fall are Sunday games.

Maybe not uncommon for P5 schools play a lot of Sunday games in Nov/Dec, but just seems like a conscious decision by TJ or Jamie. I can understand Nov with uncertainty with home FB game times. But not December as Big12 Championship game is Dec 2.

FWIW. Looks like there has been a shift from Monday to Sunday, for some of those “buy game” games. Not sure if that's deliberate, or happened to fall that way.

Sunday games at Hilton, recent seasons, for reference.

2022-23
Nov 13 NC A&T
Nov 20 Milwaukee
Dec 11 McNeese State
Dec 18 Western Michigan
(Dec 4 St. John’s, BE-B12 Battle … not a direct “choice”)
(1 Monday game)

2021-22
Nov 21 Grambling State
Dec 12 Jackson State
Dec 19 Southeastern Louisiana
(0 Monday games)

2020-21
Largely irrelevant, pandemic schedule, games canceled or moved, season sucked, whatevs.

2019-20
Dec 22 Purdue Fort Wayne
(Dec 8 Seton Hall, BE-B12 Battle)
(1 Monday game)

2018-19
Dec 9 Southern
(3 Monday games)

2017-18
Dec 10 Alcorn State
(2 Monday games)

2016-17
Nov 20 Citadel, The
(2 Monday games)

If the switch was from Monday games to Sunday games, I’d say it’s a good switch. For myself, it’s definitely easier to attend a weekend game.
Yep...out-of-town fans, plus it's easier for most families to make a Sunday afternoon game than one late on Saturday, and definitely easier than a weeknight. Our non-con attendance has declined, particularly when you're in Hilton and look around at actual people in seats. This is probably part of a strategy to try and boost crowd sizes.

Scheduling around football and volleyball (and the Saturday of All-State weekend), while also juggling the start of MBB/WBB/WR. Crossover season is a *****.

Sunday doubleheaders (WBB/MBB) have become fairly common.

Probably more so a switch from Sat to Sun but then it obviously makes Mon impossible.
So it'll be Sun and Wed/Thur games most likely.

I guess they don’t mind fans not watching basketball games because many of us will be watching NFL.

Whoever decided that Sunday games was a good idea is a moron.
Could actually be some truth to that statement, non-conference game attendance avg. last two seasons (excluded P6 opponents):

Monday: 12,562 (1 game)
Friday: 12,401 (1 game)
Wednesday: 12,384 (2 games)
Tuesday: 12,058 (3 games)
Sunday: 11,816 (7 games)

Which team was the Friday night game? I must not remember that one.

NFL fans will not be pleased, but I rarely watch NFL games, but I do know that trips to Ames for a Sunday afternoon game will be a lot easier for me than a trip to Ames for a Monday night at 8:00 p.m. game.

Based only on my experiences, this should bring in some of those so-so fans who usually buy a few tickets a year to bring their kids. If that is the reason, I think it's great.
