Damn it there went U of La chance for revenge. and to help us if we take care of business.
Another way to look at it is they should stay ranked though. A loss probably would drop them out of the rankings. Silver lining because a win by them would have helped us even more.
There's probably way more to the story but on the surface it seems like Coastal is just trying to secure their spot in the top 12 and not risking their undefeated season
It’s not the “positive” that led to the cancellation, and it never has been. Contact tracing is what cancels games. One player tests positive, while tracing takes out entire position groups.
If one test is all it takes, the tOSU game should be cancelled also?
It is probably good for us, if Louisiana lost they might drop out of the rankings (at least into the 20s). If they won they'd probably only pick up a couple spots.
We will never know but if it somehow got out they intentionally dodged this game to stay in a NY6 spot, it would be hilarious after all of their bellyaching being ranked so low and no respect.
Figured it came down to Cincinnati. UC wins and CC means nothing. Now UC loses and CC may be above them.
Can't wait for COVID to GTFO of college football.
That's too bad. Outside of the Big12, that's the one that I was most interested in watching this weekend.
Thankfully it seems like we should be back to something nearing normalcy by the time next fall rolls around
I can't see how the sun belt would want this. They need to take advantage of the exposure by having their top teams play in big name bowls.
11am Saturday is the only one that matters because it's the only one they control.
Their top teams won't be in big name bowls. They have next to no chance to get in a NY6 bowl unless Cincinnati loses (need to be top 10 since UNC gets Orange if Clemson & ND make the semis and the Pac-12 gets one). Then all of the bigger bowls outside the NY6 have tie-ins with power 5 conferences.
