Summer Concert Thread

I don't get this band.....

You either like it or you don't. What's to get?

They've been pretty consistently good since the post grunge era of 90s music. They're style might not match what you like, but I love em and so do a lot of people.

Not Summer any more, but seeing LCD Soundsystem at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul tonight.

I'm really excited to see the type of show they put on, I have refrained from looking up their set-list and hope to just go in blind and be wowed. Has anyone seen LCD live before? I'm sure their performances have changed since they first started touring, but I am super excited to see what they perform, style of transitions, lighting, etc. because they could do pretty much anything with their style of music.
They are still very popular in NYC, at least it seems that way judging by another forum I frequent. I don't know a whole lot of their music but if they come to Des Moines I would def go.

I'm so ticked. Me and a large group of friends got ripped off by a ticket broker and won't be going now.

Now we're just hoping to get our money back.

Unless you paid with cash this should be a slam dunk. Call your bank or credit card and dispute the charge. Then buy more tickets knowing that you will be refunded.

Don't regret not going.

My friends we were going with are just going to have a party and get drunk together instead.

Not a big fan of the Foo Fighters, although I really like Dave. Too bad they weren't great - I know a ton of HUGE fans who were incredibly pumped. Makes me bummed for them. There is a Foo tribute band at Wooly's in January - might be worth a try?

I am SUPER-bummed that the Greta Van Fleet show at Wooly's is sold out - they are just fantastic, but all of the StubHub-type places are selling for $80+/each. I'm debating going to Sir Sly, as I also enjoy them - just not as much, and I don't know anyone who wants to go.

That Foo Fighters show was among the worst I've ever seen.

Interesting. I thought it was the best show I've ever seen. Yeah Dave had a sore throat but he pushed through it and you could tell he had fun despite his throat. Most bands would have cancelled but they gave the fans what they came for.

As a side note and comparison I thought the Red Hot Chilli Peppers show earlier this year was good but it was like they just went through the motions. The Foo Fighters have everything and were having fun.

I️ want to like them because I️ respect Dave Grohl and who it in the band around him, I️ just don’t get why so many are such big fans....

Saw Courtney Barnett & Kurt Vile in Boston last weekend. Great show. Got box tickets to Sylvan Esso at Hoyt Sherman in March. Looking forward to that.

That would be a great show! I've been trying to talk a girlfriend into going to Sylvan Esso with me, too - I'd really like to see that show.

I would have been more than fine with them postponing so Dave could heal. It was brutal. Not only that, but the sound mix was awful.

I was so pumped to see this show and it just disappointed me on every level.

I understand that.

I personally would have been pissed if it was postposed. Yeah it didn't sound like it should have but I still think it was a great show.
