Suggestion for our Offense

We had heard in the spring that Messingham would be going more under center, correct? What happened to that? Or maybe I dreamt that....idk

Sam Richardson is the guy next year under center. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for one bad game compared to the games he had against Kansas and West Virginia. Barnett will be the backup or transfer after the spring, Rohach will be next year's Sam Richardson.

We're stacked at running back and honestly we need to stop using Nealy as much and focus on using White, Shontrelle, and Woody. Mix in some pistol with the 3 back sets and use the depth and talent at running back to our advantage. Sounds like Wimberly is gone but if he decides to come to Ames, he should redshirt or he'll get very little playing time. Seriously, I saw Nealy waaaaayyyy too many times this year.

WRs will be somewhat of a question next year. West is a talent and Messingham needs to find ways to get the football in his hands. Gary, as scary as it sounds, will probably be the go-to guy and Bundrage will have to step up. Who knows who the other receiver(s) will be.

If we can't find a 4th receiver, we'll be seeing a lot more of Ernst Brun. Don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

All of our interior linemen are back, so that's a plus for Bleil. Problem is we lose both tackles and I don't know how much I trust the tackles we have to fill in. I wouldn't be surprised if Campos & Curtis get a chance to start right off the bat once they get on campus.

Our kickers always suck.

Kirby's back. Ray Guy Award or bust.

Might be an odd year on offense and all around next year. CPR is right though, with the RBs that we have WE NEED TO RUN THE BALL.

You did not dream that as he said it in more than one interview. And that went right out the door with Tulsa in game one when we failed to do so in some situations that screamed for Jantz to be under center. Made me immediately doubt his "plans" for the offense.

Pay him as much as he wants:

doesn't really matter what offense is used, ISU needs to improve the OL play a lot. It was horrible this last year, there is just no other way to discribe it. Maybe having the QB under center might help some. The offense they run now would probably work ok if they had a QB who was really accurate, WR that were fast and caught everything. Have not seen much of that for the last few years.
