Suckeyes at Indiana

He doesn't play enough meaningful minutes to matter. In close games he doesn't play more than a couple of minutes to get a breather. He's had blowout games where he's played 15 minutes. He had 1 minute of pt last night.

Iowa is screwed because of Brady and his 1 minute.

Exactly, they have no quality depth.

To beat Iowa:

-Athleticism up and down the lineup
-Spread the court
-Handle their press
-Beat up Jok away from the ball
-Hit the offensive glass

The Hawkeyes will not beat themselves. You have to make them uncomfortable by being more aggressive than they are. Most teams in the Big Ten can't even handle their soft press. Iowa would be better off getting a Big East team or a mid major in the second round of NCAA, as opposed to a Syracuse, Florida State, Texas matchup. And yes I know Iowa beat FSU, but it was in OT in Iowa City.

Exactly, they have no quality depth.

Iowa has 1 starter averaging over 30 mins per game. ISU has 5. If ISU has such superior depth then why do their starters all play as much as they do? You said IA will not go far because of their lack of depth and their starters will get tired. ISU's starters are already tired. I think they looked tired in the 2nd half against TT and they all looked tired against WVU's up tempo style.

Uhl, Baer and Wagner are more than capable of playing meaningful minutes. They just had a bad night.

Iowa plays in the B1G, therefore they play an easier schedule and can bench their starters during blowouts. All of Iowa's starters played at least 30 minutes last night.

Burton is better than anyone on Iowa's bench even you'd admit that

I do agree with that, but if your argument is that Iowa won't go far because their starters will get tired or their bench will get exposed, the same would apply to ISU. I think ISU is already seeing some effects from their starters playing as many minutes as they do. It's a grind for sure.

Who has Iowa even really beaten this year? I don't give them a whole lot of credit for the MSU wins because their best player by far didn't even play in one game and was hurt in the other one.

I give them a little credit for the two Purdue wins, but I'm not sure how good Purdue really is?

Outside of that, any decent team they've played has beat them. ISU beat them. Notre Dame beat them. Maryland beat them. Indiana beat them.

Are they going to hang their hat on a win over Wichita State? And Wichita State also was playing without their best player (Van Vleet) in that game as well.

This is so much like football season it's not even funny. What would Iowa's record be if they had to play KU, OU, Texas, WV, Baylor, etc all twice! They only play Maryland once.

That supposedly "good" Indiana team they lost to last night is ranked worse than Texas Tech. Sure, Iowa is much improved this season and they are a good team, I just think they are highly overrated, just like we were at the beginning of the season.

IMO, they are about a 15-20th type team, just like us.

Well the point remains. Both Iowa and ISU are good enough this year to go to the Final Four.

Wow, step away from the keyboard.

First of all, Iowa football did just fine. Finished in the top 10, won 12 games and won their Division.

Second of all, the first MSU win was without Valentine, but the second game he was fully healthy and Iowa still won by double digits. I do think MSU goes to the final four when it is all said and done though and maybe even win it all.

Third of all, with the way this college bball season has been going, everybody is overrated. There is no dominant team or teams. It is totally up for grabs. Will make for a crazier March than normal and that is saying something. About 40 teams could seriously make a run at the Final Four.

Also lost to Dayton.

There was a lot of truth to this post except this part. It was his first start back from surgery, and Michigan State lost three in a row immediately after he returned including losses to Wisconsin and Nebraska. So lets pump the breaks on Valentine being the man when he came back.

He played 23 minutes the game before and started and played 37 minutes against the Hawks. If this was Uthoff and he played 37 minutes against ISU on his second game back, there is no way Iowa fans would get away with saying they lost because Uthoff wasn't fully healthy.

I wouldn't go that far. ISU's fragility is kind of amazing with so much experience at hand.

I watched last night...it seems that when someone sticks with Uhtoff he's thrown off. He's great at moving off the ball though, so it's easier said than done, and is pretty much automatic when he's got the time to line up and release.

Also if Woodbury is called for actual fouls...well, never mind, Iowa's fine without him.

I like the way they play though outside of the eye poker...they seem to play for each other. Wish ISU could do the same.

Either he wasn't 100% or MSU is just a bad team bc as he said, they lost to 2 mediocre teams as well. Or were they a final four caliber team when Iowa played them but regressed immediately after that game? So which is it? Losing at home to Nebraska in January says a lot more about a team than winning games in November.

Woody was their best player last night...

A healthy Denzel Valentine lost at home to a terrible Nebraska team? Wow the B1G is so bad this year

Then how do you explain them losing to Nebraska and Wisconsin in succession following a loss to Iowa?

Have no idea. But to say they weren't fully healthy is a lie. MSU does this every year and they will get a #5 seed and make it to at least the Elite 8 if not win it all.

Also, look at his numbers since he returned, they are no different than when the year started including the Iowa, Wisconsin and Nebraska games. He played OK against Iowa and really good against Wisconsin and fantastic against Nebraska. You can say they MSU didn't play well against Iowa and that is fine and probably true, but they were fully healthy.

It's CyTwins. I don't know why you even bother to respond to him.
