Good question. I'm wondering if ESPN wires it for sound differently in some places or at some times. I've heard it pretty loud in that arena, but even when they were making everything early, it didn't seem that loud.

Could be, but I don't think any team is super deep this year. Maryland has the best starting 5 but no bench. You can say that about any top contender this year.
Plus, that was by far the worst the bench has looked all year. Usually Uhl gives really solid minutes and so does Baer with Wagner being a little inconsistent at time and Ellingson giving next to nothing. They all played awful last night.
You must have only watched the first five minutes of the 2nd half when Iowa made their run to take the lead. Are you seriously questioning IU as one of the great basketball venues in basketball?
I'm pretty sure our bench scored points vs. TTU and our bench isn't even close to being as highly touted as your bench is.
ISU has better depth just with Burton alone. Plus let's not act like Cooke/Ashton aren't better than Brady Ellingson
I think its a lot of those guys regressing to the mean. Some of them were playing, and especially shooting, at an unsustainable pace.
This was the first game all yr Iowa's bench wasn't somewhat productive. They've been solid all year.
Yep, the old one game freak out. I have confidence in Baer, Uhl and Wagner. Ellingson is very shaky though.
Who cares about Ellingson. He's the 9th guy the last few games. Uhl, Baer and Wagner have been solid. Fran has started rotating Gesell and Sap so that he doesn't have to go to Ellingson.
ISU leans on their starters far more than Iowa does.
Fran does which is probably why he's played in every game this year. I mean he is your best guard off the bench
He averages 9 mins a game. When you are winning most games by double digits you can afford to play 10 guys a little bit.
He doesn't play enough meaningful minutes to matter. In close games he doesn't play more than a couple of minutes to get a breather. He's had blowout games where he's played 15 minutes. He had 1 minute of pt last night.
Iowa is screwed because of Brady and his 1 minute.
